Hey Guys and Gals... I am looking to getting a new board. I am 6,0 / 255 lbs I just started last year and needed a good beg. board and thats what I got... I ride the hyperlite Motive 144... I like the feeling of how its sticky in the water, but it seems too sticky at times, i am guessing it's that large fin in the middle of the board... I also noticed that it's slow wile edging towards the wake... My next board I want to get is CWB... I havent herd one bad thing about them...I have been looking at the CWB pro mods. I dont want to buy boards every year so I want this next board to last me... Can anyones give me advice on these CWB boards and what Size to get.... - 08 CWB Marius Wakeboard - 08 CWB Absolute Wakeboard - 08 CWB Transcend Wakeboard As for bindings, I just got the 08 CWB Zues. now I just need a board to go with them... Thanks in advance....

I'm 6-0 255 and Ride a 08 Transcend Platty. Love this board, The Absolute is a great board that dose it all well. I was ridding the Absolute for about 3 years before the Transcend, as for the Marius it was ok not my style of board but It could have been that I was not used to the wider board and only rode it about 4 sets. As for the CWB Breaking I have always owned the Platty and Never Busted one Yet in 3+ years and I have come down hard plenty of times in the flats and on the wake.

One vote for the Transcend, I've ridden it this year, love the pop it gives me without sacrificing much speed (compared with my old 3DS). I don't have the platinum version, and although I suppose the board isn't a featherweight, I had ridden hyperheavy for the last few years, so don't notice the weight.

I have the Transcend, I can't speak for the other boards because I haven't tried them. I love the pop the board gives, but the edging is a little slower. I can tell it was a noticable difference in speed between my old HyperLite. All in all it's a great board to ride.

I would highly reccommend the CWB Faction 144. I would also highly reccommend, based on his comments above, that you do the exact opposite of whatever scott advises. (Message edited by socalwakepunk on August 13, 2008)

If your going to keep this board for awhile you really need to try all of them and get the one that fits you. As for size I would get the biggest one you can get. Also if you search on here there was thread a few days ago comparing the transcend and the Marius.

You can always take that center fin out and see if you like a looser board with you motive but whats weird is the motive is one of the faster boards around. For what you want I would stay far away from the marius as it is one of the stickiest and the slowest boards Ive ever ridden.

IMO... The Transcend is the best board ever made. I was a major board whore before I got on this board. I've got no plans to ride anything different from now on. It does everything well.

Transcend is my favorite too. It does everything great. Given your size, I would probably put you on a 142 Transcend and a 144 Faction to see what works best for you.

Marius stickiest? I would have to disagree. Did we even ride the same board. Marius is very loose without the fins and the newer shape isn't slow.

If you decide to go the route of the Faction, let me know. I've got an '08 144 that has about 5 minutes of water time on it that I am looking to sell...

Nice, I'm sure you'll love it. Post your 'feelings' about the board after you ride it for a few sets...there are always people on WW who want in depth and varied opinions regarding their boards.

I am 6'3" 250 lbs and ride an 07 marius 140. Awesome board, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I've ridden the Absolute, Transcend and Faction. I vote you go with the Faction 144. It's a great board, has good pop, is very consistent and has super soft landings. I ride it with the smaller fin off my Absolute platinum. I prefer the '08 over the '07 as it is lighter. You can pick up a Faction for a good price if you shop around---they also come in a package-Faction board/Faction bindings for less than $400. Good luck
