Looking to get opinions on whether or not people are using sunscreen, and if so, what brand? I have fair skin and burn once in the early season, but after that I'm "good". Dermatologist is less than pleased with my sun damage on my back.

No-Ad Sunscreen. Cheaper then most and gets good reviews for both UVA and UVB rays. I also wear a wide brimmed hat!

We also use No-Ad. 15 SPF for us, the kids get 30 SPF. I re-apply many times during the day.

I used to not wear anything and then at 23 had some awesome things burned off my back. My folks have had skin cancer issues and it's simply not worth it!! Wear the screen and a big ass lifeguard hat! Coppertone Sport at least 50 SPF, stuff stays on good in water and through sweat.

Coppertone Sport. The lotion, not the spray. It is the only one that doesn't feel greasy and it stays on well through sweat and water.

Are you guys kidding? You are out in the sun all the time and dont wear sunscreen? Wow that's really dumb. I bet you only wear comp life vests too? I drink while I'm boating and I think that's less foolish. A little sunscreen oil isn't going to damage your vinyl.

Try to use something without methyl parabens. Some of the Neutrogena products are good products. Methyl parabens are a carcinogen.

Coppertone makes some good waterproof sunscreens that don't run too bad and protect well. I use headhunters for surfing but it makes your face white. I don't use it for weakeboarding since my face is usually only in the sun for short periods of time and the Coppertone is more than enough. I've tried Nuetrogena but it runs when you sweat and it burns your eyes really bad. I've pretty much tried them all and I have really fair skin so take it for what it's worth.

I use Ombrelle. It's not photoreactive and doesn't irritate anyones skin. Finding one with Titanium Dioxide is a good choice. If you use 45 or higher creams or lotions on your face you usually won't get stinging in the eyes

I will third and forth the Blue Lizard vote! Look at all the laws Australlia has passed in recent years. Yes, laws preventing kids from going out in the sun without hats and sunscreen. There has been proof that the ozone is breaking down in that area. Sorry off on a tangent. My wife has been diagnosed three times with skin cancer because of sun damage done when she was growing up. Blue Lizard from all of her research shows this to be one of the best, but not to discredit other companies. The other companies work but Blue Lizard has the best ingredience in their sun screen.Sorry about spelling

i use bullfrog but ill have to check out Blue Lizard. I am not a fan of coppertone at all, way too greasy. beyond coastal makes amazing sunscreen. it feels like normal lotion, protects every well, and doesnt run. it is very expensive though. also its all natural. i dont always use sunscreen but if ill be out all day ill put some on. i always have some in my board bag. i used sunscreen more this year then last and my tan was definitely not to its usual golden bronze. haha
