My friends nautique has an nice fuel water seperator inline on his fuel line. When he got water in his tank from washing the boat, all he did was drain the separator.

My other friend has the same boat that I do (older xstar) and when he got water in his tank from surfing on the starboard side where the gas cap/vent his. he had to take his tank out and drain it.

So, I was thinking of addign one of these little dohickies cause I'd like to be able to surf on the starboard side.

I talked to my service manager and basically mastercraft doesnt recomend doing this because they use some fancy fuel line (the material and covering).

Anyone have any thoughts? I thought I should be able to cut the fuel line and add the separator. Any reson the fuel line on that boat (preditor engine) would be any different from any other fuel line?

The seperators can be put in line easily and also help get out condensation if you leave your tank part full most of the time.

When we first got our boat it was having a few problems running right We put a fuel water seperator on drainged and cleaned the fuel tank and replaced the fuel lines. It wasn't hard to do and it was nice to know you have it just incase.

Andrew: On this boat the gas tank vent it under the gas cap. i.e., even when the gas cap is on, there is a path for water to get into the tank.

I've seen people add them to malibus, but im still looking to hear of anyone adding one to an efi mastercraft. They use funky fuel lines.
