Fun, fun fun! Especially if you do it passing another boat full of riders who take wakeboarding way too seriously.

At a pro DU contest the night before the Portland tour stop a few years ago, we were down to the four rider final, the first rider off the dock goes out and bust a couple of Fashions, I was thinking what was that all about because it was like a $2,000 pay day. Then the next rider does the same thing, all four riders busted fashions. They had all got together before the finals and decided to split the money and do fashion airs, it was pretty funny.

Probably the gayest trick in wakeboarding (if you call it a trick). Fine when done to entertain, but don't take yourself too seriously when you're making a mockery of our sport. LOL!!!

Its best when double pumped or tweaker pumped. If I was a cooler person I could do it to blind. A CWB rep I know named Steve does that, unfortunately for him he's married so his friends get all the chicks it pulls. My favorite wakeboard line is this..."did you see the fashion on that air?" Cracks me up everytime.

I always pull one out for the observers during a set. However, i'm all over throwing them in front of other boats now (thanks Mark D). I pulled off a Fashion air to Indy a few weeks ago and was stoked about it. It made me have a good set after that.

Oh come on J-Rod, no matter how gay it is, it is pretty fun when you see a really good rider break away from his normal bag of tricks and bust out the old fashion air.

It depends on the rider I guess. Arun Francis is rumored to have thrown a Fashion Glide. Although I haven't seen one, that sounds respectable. Bates and Arun are both extremely talented riders. I guess they can pull it off in between their huge bag of tricks.

If I'm not mistaken, Rickey G is actually doing a Double Fashion Raley, first left hand behind the head, then right hand before bringing it down.

Please correct me if Im wrong, but from WAY back in the day I remember hearing that a Fashion air is an actual trick that is seeminly imposible today. If i remember right the point of the trick is to grab the tip of your board, reaching back behind your head, and bending your knees. Since board have become twin tipped, and much shorter, the Fashion air became a, ummm...fashionable trick.

Ridiculously cool for sure! Do them sparingly though, I was at a INT competition once and one kid did about 5 of them in one run and it was pretty lame.

I heard that back in the day Ricky G, and Erik Ruck were finalists in a Double-Up contest. Once it was just the two of them all they threw were fashion airs, sometimes double and even triple pumping them. IMO, that's hilarious. People who take wakeboarding too seriously are lame.
