Randy Scagliotti is the man you need to talk to. He is a regular on this site. My kids rode there earlier this month and liked it very much, however, the water was a little colder than they would have liked.
They have great campgrounds and little cabins you can rent out with heater / AC. if you have an RV you will find the hook ups are great there. There are slips you can rent which are right next to the campgrounds but reserve them early! Just be prepared it's become very busy on that lake just like LBC.
Great place. We go every year. There are basically two campgrounds. Prineville and Jasper Point. Prineville is reservation only. And make them early or watch for cancellations. We get a deluxe cabin every year this way. Jasper Point is first come basis. Both are great campgrounds. There is also primative camping around the lake.
The water is epic in the morning. Wind pick up in the afternoon. But there is sheltered spots. If you go south to the dam there are less campers. But locals on the weekends.
There is a marina. Has gas but somewhat limited food. Best to head back to City of Prineville. About 1/2hour drive though.
LBC is the worst of the two for wind, but either lake is just crowded. You can get out of the wind a little easier on P than LBC. LBC is worse for chop. You might checkout Foster's or Green Peter
