Be more specific...

Are you talking about protecting the interior from the weather, the hull from the water the hull from the docks etc???

use heavy duty PVC pipes as vertical spacers on the inside edge of the boat slip. This keeps the boat from getting under the edge of the dock no matter what the water level. Drive the pieces down into the mud about 18 inches apart, and bolt them to the top edge.

I posted some pictures on a different thread a while back; I did a search and couldn't find it, and I don't have the pics anymore. Adam, I think it was on a thread when you were building your dock.

Rich,

yes it was, the thread was "buildign a dock" I believe...shoudl have been back in Jan/Feb of this year. I added 2x10 face boards around my dock and just have people use large fenders. Same concept as Rich. There are all kinds of bumper/fender ideas online...just do a serach for dock supplies

When our boat lived at the marina I used these:

You can use them for the stern lines. They are nice as they prevent shock to the cleats...

Stern lines criss-crossed to the dock posts aft of the boat. Spring lines from the same stern transom eye point to mid posts on the dock and a single line from post at the bow with a centered snap hook to the trailer bow eye on the boat. I also have the flexible vinyl/plastic material like the inside of a corrugated box in the event I don't tie off the lines just right. I'll see if the pics of the boat for sale show it.
