Ok, so heres the official post for the 135 Murray. Saturday I met up with Shaun at OWC and we made the exchange! I just got a chance to ride it today! Board rides great and my full report will be in the journal (included). Anyway, the board should be in the mail tomorow to go to Sam Adams! Sam you should expect it around next monday! I tried to get some pictures today, but right as the camera came out it started raining!! My friend got a few decent shots so here they are! (Message edited by gdillyfunk69 on March 31, 2008)

No sign of the board yet, but then again, can't ride it until Thursday anyways so it is probably a good thing it did not come.. haha Anyways, Shaun I got a chance to give your board a look at Carolina WaterSports/MasterCraft while in SC last week. Looks awesome, I wanted to ride it right there on the spot but the weather was unfavorable.... Also, I noticed something very cool about the board graphics that I could not see from the pictures. I will let everyone else discover this on there own, to keep up the stoke, but I guess I could give out just one hint: Its classic Murray, and you may need a magnifying glass to get it!

Sam USPS just sent the board back to me, because apparently I had mixed too addresses together when I went to print it. Luckily, I don't have to pay twice because of this, I just have to fix it and get it back in the mail. Tampa to Niceville is close, and you may still get it by thursday.... it will be BACK in the mail by 2 o clock today.

Ok so have I got the story for you guys. I wanted to post it up since everyone will not get the 135 journal. Well the Day started with me taking the ACT.... Ya not so much the highlight of the day, but I think I did fine. Anyways, It rained during the test and the forecast was rain all day so I did not think I was going to be able to ride the board today. Well around 3 the clouds parted and I gave my friend a call to see if he would give me a pull. Since it was already 3pm and rain was still expected, we decided to take the ol fishing boat instead of the X2 for a quick run, just in case I wouldn't be able to ride on Sunday. Well, got the boat in the water and started to ride, board felt just amazing. It was not to tight and not to loose... Like perfect. I usually ride larger board but I really felt more in control and able to really whip it around. Can you say wake slash? haha Her is where the fun really begins. OK so picture this, here I am riding behind a center console outboard, with a bump of a wake, and a newly trained driver... (I'm not a tube, I don't like circles, anyways.) About 5 minutes into my wake slashing, a Sport Nautique comes tumbling into the Bayou... Meanwhile my friend is driving in circles and im like oh dear. When I finally motion him to drive strait, I point to the boat. My plan was for my driver to sling me to their boat so I could talk to them and see if they wanted to ride the board. My drivers plan was different.... He decided to come rumping over there at about 9 mph about 3 ft away, sending a gigantic roller right to there stern... OH #%#% Now I look up and these guys look like they are about to freeken pull a gun and shoot me. It was a colorful few moments but by then all I could find myself doing was saying sorry he is a new driver, I'm so sorry... By this time I figured I should not mention the board. So I was like " Hey guys , um I just wanted to see how you were doing today." ya smooth real I am thinking... then they responded to "were FINE" So then I let them in on a local rider thing we are doing in May and stuff to try to smooth things over. I could still tell that they guy was totally pissed so I decided to bail. So much for making new friends... haha Anyways it was down hill from there, but the important this is, I rode the board, and it is still in one piece! More later I need to go eat something (Message edited by sdahockey21 on April 12, 2008)

Send it to Tennessee . Sorry to hear about the mis-happ. The best thing to have done would have been to let go of the rope and make him come back. My wife pulled me by someone last year and they got a little hot too.

Ok here is PART 2 of my post. The day started with us wanting to do something unique with the board, and since my dad is in the military we decided to go to BASE to get a picture of the board with an F-15. Pretty sweet. This included running across a 4 lane 45mph road, with a wakeboard... Ha Ha Lets just say we got a lot of strange looks, pointing and laughing.. We got a kick out of it tho!! The conditions today were way less than Ideal, very swirly wind, very choppy water, and the sun kept hiding from me. Other than that, an amazing day on the water. At The dock 2007 MasterCraft X2 SS A med student from my dad's work came out to ride with us. He had never ridden before so I set him up with an 06 Murray since the bigger bindings were already on that board. We got him up first try! He was stoked and went right into trying to jump the wake. He took a couple hard falls but he was totally stoked on wake boarding. Since he was able to get up, I switched out the bindings and put him on the 08, he immediately took a liking to the 08 board. We didn't have a marker so he did not get to sign, but he was still stoked just to be apart of the program! Now it was my turn to ride. Since the the water was so choppy I decided to not fill the ballast up on the X2. It felt so good to be back on the water regardless of the conditions and I really liked the board, and I have to say, I will probably end up on it for this season. Here are some more pictures. Thanks For The Amazing Opportunity Shaun, now tell me who to send it too next!! -Sam Adams (Message edited by sdahockey21 on April 13, 2008)

PS I really like the idea of a photo of the board near a landmark or something unusual. Kind of like the red couch or the guy posing in front of the twin towers etc.

Apparently I'm next. Sam's contacted me already and will give me a call later today. We're in the same town. Since the F-15 is taken I'll have to come up with some other place to pose it in front of (too bad Crab Island is poppin' off right now).

"Since the the water was so choppy I decided to not fill the ballast up on the X2" That's choppy??? Man, you're spoiled maybe it looks different on camera... Nice wake for no ballast. It's a shame the board won't make it all the way down here, I'll have to buy one I guess.

Well we had a section of about 100 yards that was somewhat protected, everything else was being chewed. 18mph wind that day. With a small craft advisory... Thats choppy! Its super strange when your are riding into the wind and it feels like you are going faster because of the wind resistance. And the spray from the boat is always nice to the face.

I was out of town earlier this week so it was a nice surprise to come home and find the Murray waiting. Unfortunately my nephew, Daniel, was out of town so he didn't get a chance to ride it but a few of my neighbor's kids jumped at the chance. The conditions were pretty crowded on the lake today but one of the guy's had his best runs of the early season on it. The other guys loved the ride although one of the guys would have fit on the 140 better being 6'2" but who is going to pass up a chance to ride on "Shaun's board". I'm going to be sending the board off to Matt Murphy tomorrow at the following address: Matt Murphy 7604 Cottonwood Dr Denver, NC 28037 I would assume it will be there by Wednesday. Thanks for the opportunity Shaun, I feel very fortunate that we were able to be a part of this. You've always been a class act and still remain my favorite pro rider mainly because you exhibit true love of wakeboarding and are the kind of example I want my nephew to emulate. My nephew has always been a huge fan of yours so he is going to be really disappointed he didn't get to ride and sign your board and be a part of this. His first board was a 131 Belmont and it is proudly displayed on his wall, sporting your autograph of course. We are really looking forward to watching you kill it in person at the first stop in Acworth GA later this month. Show the young guns how its done!
