just curious how old are you, and how many people board past the so called old age of 40+. I personally don't think boarding in your 40's in any different than in any other age other than your most likely a little wiser to the injury bug, tricks you can and connot do, which you also take a little more time to heal than a 20 year old.

46 and try like hell, just not any good. Not due to a lack of effort, just a lack of skillz. Wish this sport was around when I was growing up. I'm out summer and winter just for the love of the sport. (Message edited by dudeman on July 17, 2006) (Message edited by dudeman on July 17, 2006)

27 and my bag of tricks gets deeper every year. Lately I've been thinking about getting after some handle pass inverts, but I want my foundation to be really strong first. I'd like to be riding for a long time, but it definitely takes a toll on you.

LOL...40 and doing almost all the grabs, grab-180s, HS and TS 3s, and oh-so-close on the HS/FS-5. Also wakeskating and very close to landing my first pop-shuv-it.

f f f f f 48. Whew! Hard to say. Most days I feel a lot younger than that though. Some days not. Problem is that everyone I hang out with is much younger than me. At least I am not trying to keep up with them. Like Randy (Dudeman) said, wish this was around when I was younger. I just go out and have fun, and have fun hanging on my boat with the best people in the world. I would like to hit a camp sometime and bump things up a notch, w/o getting too crazy Maybe soon! I have no plans on slowing down.

Soon to be 47 - w2w, a couple of 180's, working on grabs and surface tricks (my power slide is getting much better.) Because of my water skiing background, still love to slam it across the wake on a sharp turn, slalom style, and get ahead of the boat.

I think it's more of a relief to know I am not dreaming, as my wife says. I can plan on boarding well after I retire. But I agree I am surpised also, thining it was more about the 20's than us

nearly 49, mid-life crisis @40 got first boat learned to kneeboard then ski been wakeboarding 6 yearsor so. Basic wake-2-wake, ollie 180s, 1 wake 180s, powerslides, lipslides etc. Been riding a Roam for last season, highly recommend for the "more mature" boarder - so much fun! Aiming to get some grabs and hope to tuffen up and attempt an invert before I hit 50. Ridden cable and loved it (apart from wrecking rotator cuffs in one shoulder). About two weeks away from getting winch up and running so hope to try some wakeskating this New Zealand summer (USA winter) and maybe even a slider! Sometimes have to resort to a couple of ibuprofin's before, and wee nap after a session. Hope to get to the USA one day and go to OWC and a wakeboard camp but might have to wait until I retire

41 and have 5 ACL reconstructions under my belt in the last 9 years (knees are 82). Those surgeries have slowed down my progression although my fear has seemed to progress nicely (and everyone at work thinks I'm crazy to still ride). I can consistently land backrolls, tantrums, scarecrows, HS 3, all the various 180s except for ts blind. I have landed but don't necessarily own backroll2revert, TS backroll, TS3, TS5, HS blind 3, switch tantrum (ate my last ACL). Unfortunately I could land most of those before the first surgery (although I've gotten more consistent with some) so getting older and breaking more has definitely put a damper on my riding but I still enjoy it, I just think about consequences too much now and no longer have delusions of going pro
