Glad to see some press finally on the Pufferfish for wake surfing. I am one of the owners of 9 Fish Surfboards. We are a Santa Monica based company in business for 2 years. All of our boards are hand shaped and hand glassed using epoxy or PU cores. No boards are shaped and glassed here in the states, but we do have Clyde Beatty (one of the original fish pioneers) overseeing our glassing process overseas for us.
There are 2 versions of the pufferfish. One is 4'8" long, 3 1/4" thick, this is normally used as a true surfboard. There was then a modified puffer made specifically for wakesurfing. It is 4'8" long and 2 1/4" thick. This is the board pictured above.
The puffer was tested thoroughly througout the summer 2007 season and did it ever work great for wake surfing. It is a great board for those first learning to wake surf, and for anyone looking to truly capitalize on the "surf" feel of wake surfing. It is very easy to ride and it is unbelievably stable. If you are looking to do 360's and other tricks, this is not the board for you, but it is truly a great board to get riders of all ages and shapes stoked on wake surfing.
