We had a chance to test a set of Surfinz boxes today. Two common boxes are FCS and Futures, the Surfinz boxes allow you to utilize Futures, FCS or the adjustable Surfinz.

This picture shows the box with an FCS H2 Carbon Lite fin installed.

These are some of the fins that can be used in the box. Dtandard Futures in the foreground. The C5 looking fin is an FCS duplicate. The C5 boxes are pretty limiting, whereas being able to install a small 2 3/8 inch fin, OR something as larger as the almost 5 inch H2, IMO is much more flexible and allows a board to be configured for a newbie, someone wanting a loose sliding ride or someone wanting more drive.

Now with the Surfinz boxes, you can get that, as well as, the ability to install your favorite Futures or FCS fins.

The C5's have some sliding adjustment that the FCS version doesn't but you can install the fin in the front or rear plug.

Jeff - looks like a great product - exactly what I need - are those available on the market yet? Or did you get a special hookup?

I thought it was a great concept too. This thread at Swaylocks talks about modified O'fish'l and Red-X fins being used with the boxes also, back in Feb '07:

My understanding is that the manufacturer is in Australia and I've found links to the system in the made-in-china.com website.

These were pre-installed in a board we were R&D'ing, but I do believe that manufacturers can get them at wholesale.

Give Mike Walker at TWP a shout, I'm sure that he can get you a set.
