Well, it seems that in the migration all of the text in our old posts got lost. So instead of having to see a bunch of threads with no context I thought I'd start a new one. I can't remember what the countdown was at but I'm thinking that if the weather continues to be warmer, it still "MIGHT" be possible to get in a set in March. 30 days...
Somebody came in the shop today and was talking about a buddy who threw his boat in the water this weekend. I think some of you guys are behind the ball!
The average ice out date is around april 14. This is from an old man that has lived on a lake his whole life. He says thats that average not going to argue it. 45 days then
Well, fortunately the average is not spot on for every lake. Last year, April 4th the ice was out on Island Lake...myself and a few others were out there shreddin' that day as well. Two years before that I was out on Bryant Lake at the very beginning of April, again negating the applicability of the April 14th average to all lakes.
the earliest I've been able to take a is Apr 17th. That's early enough for me. Just hope we can be out again mid April this year. Might be a stretch at this rate.
Seth do you have a dry suit or were you riding in your wet suit last year on April 17th?
Looking forward to getting back home and seeing all of you guys on Saturday. It's been too long. Haven't seen most of you guys since the Vikes / Saints game.
while rain would be great, sunny and 40's will help as well..
we gotta be careful what we ask for though.. If we want lake levels up high - we need precipitation in whatever form we can get it. Another spring dry spell like last year will suck... Lots of lakes were having issues.. Medicine was bad - dudes couldn't get their boats on and off the lifts and the low water on Prior cost me a new prop, rudder and some gel.
Man it's slow at the shop today. It gave me time to make this compliation of my boards over the years, I rode a ton more but these are the ones I actually owned!
Do you guess know off the top of your head if the starter on my tristar is located underneath the engine or if it can be accessed from the side? Thanks guys
I noticed on the 10K wakes website that they have some pricing for the 2.0 System in New Germany. Anyone know when in May they will allow people to start using it??

I don't know off the top of my head. Give Mark Larson a call and he can tell you in 2 seconds - 763-533-9666.
I just got accepted to Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona for a Doctor of Physical Therapy program. To all my friends -- I will be migrating to the warm West prior to June for three years! Thanks for being awesome! I begin on June 7th my three year Doctoral degree. I am going to fully enjoy my last three months in the Midwest and will miss my Minnesota winters ;-)! Man it has been a great ride!
Congrats on med school man! 3 years in the sun shouldnt hurt either!
It's been awhile since I've pulled a Ford starter and the last one was on a car but it should be on the bottom behind the oil pan. It's not gonna be fun getting it out but it shouldnt be anything a couple of scraped knuckles can't fix.
Thanks Tune and congrats on the upcoming addition to your family! You guys find out if its a boy or girl?

May 1st, weather permitting, from what I've heard. max of 5 riders in line for the cable at a time.
Eder, she can take all the time she needs. We haven't even started on the bay room yet! Congrats on the new job. We should definitely hook up before you go. I still gotta try kiting!
Thanks Jay - Thanks everyone, and congratulations to Andy and Chad. This seems like a great year for many of us and great things are to come for many. I feel blessed to be presented with the opportunity I just accepted and I feel blessed to have been part of such a great wake community here and have so many great friends and family. I will try and get out with my close WW peeps before I leave! So expect a few phone calls!
Ok, time to temporarily hijack with a kneeboarding video. I finished this up a few weeks back, but I messed up on the formatting and wanted to redo it before posting. Well, I'm to busy (or too lazy) to do that, so here it is anyway.
It's from an annual kneeboarding fly-in in Georgia that I attend each year. This is the first video I've made in which I not only produced the video, but also the music. A fun new challenge. Let me know what you think:
we should get a Minnesota/Wisconsin caravan.. Load up 3-4 SUV's and Bro it up for a weekend. Arkansas is a hella far drive. Could make for some epic road tripping.
So I hear everyone getting all stoked about ice out... but for the ones riding right when the ice comes off, is a dry suit a must?? I started wakeboarding for the first time fall of last year, so i wanna get out as soon as i can my first full year.
Ha! You guys crack me up. Kneeboarding doesn't have any effect on the knees. If you're not used to it, it can take a few stretching sessions to get the knees to bend that far. But, once the knee is fully bent, it has nowhere else to go. Thus, no knee problems.
It's all about the back. Crushing vertebrae. From kneeboarding, I've had one blown disk in my neck that pushed on my spinal cord. Not good. Thankfully, it healed itself.
I got a question for you Minnesota natives. My sister lives in Minneapolis and we were thinking of going up north a little ways this summer for some good riding. Is there any certain lakes that are glass all the time, or is it pretty much just point at one on the map and you are good We might have an RV to stay in so maybe a little more remote locations wouldn't be a bad thing.
Gull Lake is really nice, I don't know as far as an RV goes but there is a really nice golf resort called Madden's, and the lake is really nice for boarding, lots of open space.
I just bought the lady friend her first setup tonight. 133 Liquid Force Luna with Limited CT Wings.
The House let me down, they have been advertising the 2010 Slingshot Pearl for $299 since December now. I called and asked if I could just pick it up since there is no reason to ship it to my place right down the street. Between my call and arriving the next afternoon it was at full retail $449. Sean was willing to work on the price a tad, but still nothing crazy. Not the biggest deal, but I figured they could have worked something out with me since I send customers to their shop daily through my job.

Lake Minnetonka. especially on the weekends.
But seriously, +1 for Gull Lake and Maddens. There's another resort, Craguns, just around the bay from Madden's. Another good one to look into, I've stayed there four or five times and its definitely a nice place.

Dude Explain this a bit more to me. Where did you see the advertising them for $299? Who did you talk to? Sean is my homie, but I am sponsored by THE HOUSE not Sean, I can prolly by pass him and help you out in fact I am going to email the owner right now on this. But I need some more info. Which Sean helped you? Sean Barret or Shaun Mack? Where was it listed at $299? Do you remember who you talked to on the phone. I cant promise $299 but prolly a number closer to that than one of the Sean's could do.
Jordan, I feel your pain man. I have mono. My throat hurt so bad last week, I wanted to be knocked unconscious. My entire family and doctors do not approve my Montana ski trip later this week. Get well soon!! I guess it's better to be sick when it's 40 degrees out instead of 80 and butter.

Nick when you headin to Montana, and where you goin? I'm headin out to Whitefish on Friday night, from the 13th to 19th. Good ol' Amtrak too
Corey, some die hards are riding with wetsuits and drysuits but my boat is still in winter-i-zation mode. Wouldn't matter for me anyway, my riding days are over, officially. I am now the DD. By the way I'm learning how to drive a mean dub.
I am in Vail, Colorado for 1 more month recovering from hip surgery. Doc and PT's have all told me no more wakeboarding or skating. Surfing is ok, but it bores me to death and it messes up the water for everyone else. One of my PT's used to ride juniors with Harf, so I am definitely listening to him. Looks like I'll be fishing a lot more this summer.
Ben, I'm headin out to Bridger Bowl. Leaving Saturday night...i'll be riding Mon-Thursday. I'm pumped to try something new, I've always done the same old Summit County trips every winter.
Nick, your're gonna have a great time in Bridger, I've got family out about 15 mins away from there, so we flew out for a week last year and skied and boarded all day for a week.... It's a great place to go, and that's where I learned to board
AMO, holy crap I didnt even know you were slotted for surgery! Can't blame you for listening to the PT though, if they board then they know the real deal. Did they say anything about skiing? I know its not the same as boarding but its still pretty fun to go tear up some glass.
Man I am super jealous, I would love to be headed out west riding. Bridger is super fun, we've always managed to get tons of snow out there. You can day trip it over to Big Sky too, I've never made it but heard its worth the drive. The last time we were at Bridger the last day we got a legit 2+ feet of snow! It was crazy cause in town we got nothing and were kind of bummed, read the paper and they were saying how it dumped on the MTN so we flew out to go ride the fresh.
