Well last week when I was riding I noticed that one of my bindings was loose on my board. I checked the screws and they were tight as they could be. Found out that the baseplate on the footbed is bent! I have enough space in the front of my binding to put 3 fingers under it. I contacted NICE by email and this is what I got back from the so called warranty manager: "Lynsey, Under the NICE warranty we do not fix or replace footbeds. We have very few problems with them and when we do it is due to an outside factor. My one suggestion is to find someone with a vice that you can secure and bend the baseplate back to form. Since I'm the warranty manager when we do get bent baseplates we do the same thing, we do not have any replacement baseplates. Please let me know if you have any questions...Thanks, Jake." Well now I'm really bent about this, no pun intended. These are 2003 bindings and the manufacturer won't even honor this. I tried using a hammer to see if it would work (only thing I had around my apartment) and no, didn't work. These are new bindings that I've used for 6 mos and looked on their website and nothing is there regarding warranties. I just find it hard to believe that they don't honor footbeds as part of the warranty and are not going beyond the call of duty for this by replacing the binding that is messed up. I don't want to pay over $300 for a new pair of bindings, I liked NICE but not sure if I'll buy another pair in the future because of this. My legs are strong but not that strong to only bend one of the footbeds! Any other suggestions? (Message edited by buttacup on September 14, 2003)
