Oliver, First you need a good Ecoat on the trailer, This is a kind of primer that seperates the paint from the galvinized surface (alows the paint to stick). Secondly, the best results would be to use a powdercoat but this needs to be baked on at a elevated temp.Some enamel pait can be substituted depending on what e caot you use. I used to work as an Engineer at Jonh Deeere and have seen a few boat trailers get run through our paint process after hours. This process was for heavy construction equipment. Stop buy a body shop and talk to a pait tech. Paiting a trailer should be similar to painting car fenders, Hope this helps. TK
