Looks like they are a serious challenger for stealing the world's ugliest graphics title from MB... sorry I couldn't help myself. Not sure about the practicality of the platform setup for putting on bindings either?

The spec sheet says it has a 1,200 gallon ballast system??? Wouldn't that be close to 8,000 lbs? That has to be a typo...

Aw Jonny We lost ya huh... 8,000lbs of ballast and being rated Highest in Quality and Customer Satisfaction by JD Power has to count for something right? I have to assume that both are typos though. How much do you have to pay for thart JD Powers thing anyhow? Maybe we should do it? Interesting looking boat though. It isn't my style but someone poured their heart into developing it so I wish them luck. Looks like a very Centurion type of hull. I bet the wakesurf is nice.

PCM was assigned JD Power's highest satisfaction rating, so I'm assuming that they're just using that ranking as liberally as possible... Haha.

It's definately got some 'ideas' from some of the other manuafacturers ie. illusion type tower, malibu windshield, early '90s ski nautique transom! Crappy ad, crappy website, crappy graphics. Other than that, it's not the worst boat I've seen.

I won't comment on aesthetics, and I wish them best of luck as well. I wish I had the brass to start up a business like that. That said, there are definitely a few holes in the marketing plan. The spec sheet reads like an ad in the newspaper for a carnival this weekend, or a going-outta-business sale at a cheap furniture store. I can't imagine that appealing to anyone shopping for inboards. The freeboard doesn't look all that low to me, especially if the ballast is full. I don't understand the transom - cutting into interior space or storage, for what benefit. The 20's on the trailer are just stupid. Look how high it's sitting, you'd probably have to flood the bed of a 4x4 pickup to launch it. Does anyone even make trailer tires in a 20" anyway? Interesting how the vinyl comes over the deck by the rear hatch. I can't believe they are listing the electric hatch lift among their top features, I hated that thing every day it was on my boat.

Did any of you catch the specs on the trailer? 20" wheels, low pro tires. I don't know why a one peice hatch is a good thing but they seem to think it is. Maybe it is a more solid surface to dance on. Well i'm sure they will sell tons to those people who take their boats straight to ski beach to party and then straight back to the launch ramp. One more thing on marketing - look at all the crap in the bed of that ferd towing it, and the alley in the background. Whether there's a correlation or not, it's hard not to associate oversights on these kind of things with the build quality of the boat itself.

So Chris Anthony are you saying that Correct Craft bought their highest customer satisfaction ratings from JD powers? "How much do you have to pay for thart JD Powers thing anyhow? Maybe we should do it?" The answer is you have to pay alot! The bill to get on JD Powers' ratings are usually included in giving the customer a superior product with superior service, this costs a ton and you should try it! http://www.jdpower.com/boats/ratings/index.asp?v1=6 http://www.nwski.com/ad.html

Its got a ton of potential, but with any product first entering the market its got its issues that people are not going to like right away. I like the overall design of the boat but not the graphics. If someone were seriously interested in buying one you could probably have them alter the graphics to not having flames or such. They are only going to produce so many a day so they will more than likely be made to order. I agree about the tow rope, but if you think about the angle of a boat when wakeboarding the two point would be at an angle that wouldn't be an issue for towing. I look forward to seeing their design in 2009...if they are able to last with all the initial negativity surrounding their product.

I don't think that is a transom audio set up. I think those are the blowers. I could very well be wrong BUT i don't think that is any audio. OTHER QUESTION: How come big name companies use all sony products? Malibu, this new wakecraft, centurion, and maybe other. None the less we all know that sony isn't that good. Why don't manufacturers offer alpine, pioneer, eclipse, and mtx instead of sony

O.K. the rest of what I know on the company. The owner was originally owner of flightcraft of Austrailia. sold it to malibu, then came and worked for malibu, late 80's early 90's i think. I saw their add in boat trader, so i ran down to atwater (merced) to check out the place. owner was at a local lake testing the boat pictured. went to the lake and he gave me a test ride. real nice aussie guy. the boat was his very first prototype. it was a bit rough on fit and finish, but handled pretty well and wake looked pretty sweet and even on both sides with no ballast. it has what he called a prop tunnel design in the rear of the hull about the width of the wakeplate. the hull actually steps up a couple of inches in the middle and about 14" wide above prop. he said he's working on boat #2 to send to boating mag for testing. good luck to him i like the entrapenural spirit in a very competitive world. Oh yeah, it has the corvette motor, side exhaust, shower in the front with it's own bilge, compass, perfect pass and more. the deal is you buy one for 50k and he gives you a check for 4k for every referral. so i'll buy the first one if 13 of you will buy one with me. let's see, that means i get mine for free plus 2k for gas money. just give me your names and we could be boat #'s 3-16

One piece engine cover for ease of maintenance. I think everyone has gone away from that because they are just another piece to break. It says that the tower is fiberglass...? I agree with whoever pointed out the garbage in the back of the truck, the pics are taken out in the dirt for heaven's sake! It looks like a guy was so eager to put up a website that he didn't take the time to do it right, that does make me wonder about attention to detail in the boat itself. Kind of like the 1200 gallon ballast

Chris, your comments in regards to JD Power "8,000lbs of ballast and being rated Highest in Quality and Customer Satisfaction by JD Power has to count for something right? I have to assume that both are typos though. How much do you have to pay for thart JD Powers thing anyhow? Maybe we should do it?" Didn't you originally use or try to use PCM? In fact, don't all of your print ads still state PCM. I wonder if "Prop Tunnel Design" and "Drop Zone Technology" took the same CAD Program... or Hydrodynamic Theory Testing. Hmmm... go a step further... "Convex V" Let's get Tige involved too... I love all new boats. I think they are all cool. I always participate in dropping $50k into a new boat... to help the cause!

PCM is a great engine. I was in love with the 6.0l when we were first prototyping our 23v but we decided to go with Volvo for many reasons. PCM has distribution in Merced which probably has a lot to do with why it is in this boat. Shipping is a pain on engines. I did assume though that the JD thing was meant for the boat and not the engine. Typos happen. The first site I put up for Epic had a mention of a Level 10 magazine review which didn't exist (I threw it in as a place filler). I think it said "Reviews are in and Level 10 Mag says the Epic Rocks" or something stupid like that. Someone saw it and I took it down immediately. I know most anyone has had something similar happen to them. I can only assume the 1200gallon reference is one of those and I guess the JD Powers thing is just a bit out of context. Anyways, I REALLY know that it takes a lot of effort to built anything of this magnitude. I hope he does well and supports the sport so we can see wake sports grow through the coming years.

1200 gallons = 10,014 lbs. that is what I call slammed; not many people take on more than 1X boat weight in ballast. This has to be approaching 2.5X boat weight. Somebody needs to check the math.

1 gallon of water is 8.33 pounds <clean/treated> 1200 gallons x 8.33 lbs = 9996 pounds of water weight so 10000 lbs with dirty water would be a good estamate (Message edited by TechnaRider on September 27, 2006)

maybe 1200 litres of ballast`= 317 gallons = 2640 lbs. I believe Australia uses Metric (as the US should IMO) and the gentleman mentioned above was Australian.

I think with different graphics, it wouldnt look that bad. Only problem is that the intergrated tower/tower speakers/lights doesnt leave any room for changing. After riding with Wetsounds, I would never want to ride with 6x9s.

What if this thing had the sickest wake on the market? Would people opinions change? If this boat had the perfect transition, perfect lip, great pop, and a solid wake would you be more interested in buying it? Or is it simply based on it being "ugly"? Im willing to bet if you were to invest in this boat the company would me more than happy to accomodate your desire for a paint job. You could probably ask for simple white on white no flames with a red or black logo, or no logo. Then would people be more interested. I think that this boat would look great with white on white, no flames, all black logo, the inside stripe of the tower white, with something other than 6x9s. The overall design of the boat is good just the graphics are not something i would be interested in. But like i said before, if the wake were perfect would you change your mind?

I definately think it has potential but i would change a few things. I would want a nice normal trailer, not one with 20" wheels. I would want a normal 3 peice sunpad and i wouldn't want it to fold over the sides as this one apears to do. I would keep it simple with graphics and i would get rid of the colored piping on the interior. With those changes it would be much more appealing.

Yea, put a normal trailer on that thing and you could offer it for 48k instead of 50k. Put a normal aluminum tower with wetsounds speakers instead of 4 6x9s, and you could probably reduce the price another 1k (I am assuming carbon fiber towers cost $3k). Other than that, the boat looks like a bu on the inside. The back sundeck is a new style which doesnt look bad. The guy should definately not make the website as flashy. Looks like a infomercial in website form. (Message edited by malibuboarder75 on September 28, 2006)

There is not room for 1200 gallons.... that's about the equivalent space as 22 55gal drums. That won't even fit on a good sized flatbed trailer. Obviously a typo.

I think it's great that someone has the balls to start a company with a new product and compete with the likes of Malibu, Mastercraft, etc... It's the same thing with Epic. These guys are doing something that most of us would never be capable of... AND taking a huge risk if it fails. Look how many businesses fail within the first two years. How many of you would like to design and build the boat of your dreams for the wakeboard market. I congratulate them for their vision and wish them success for their future.

i like the look of the boat but i dont think the makers of the boat actually wakeboarded or they would realize some design flaws. For example the transom looks nice but i dont think it ould work well for putting on a board. the tower speakers are pinted upwards so it could get in the way of the rope but all in all a very nice looking boat ( except for the graphics) but i dont think they will sell many to serious boarders.

When the boat is towing someone at 20+mph theres no issue with the speakers being pointed the way they are. They angle of the boat causes the tow point to be angled enough that the tow rope doesn't hit the speakers. Take a look at the actions photos. You can see it there. The transom would be tough to get a board on and off. This might not be the perfect boat for people throwing 1080s but will take you up through 9s no problem
