Just curious what you think would be the AVERAGE boat hours per year. Not what a ski camp averages, but just the regular joe blow that goes out once or twice a weekend. My 96 Malibu has 343 hours, bought it last year with 255.

50-100 hours per year is what I would consider average.

Think about the gas that guy spent on that 247... Do the math...705 hours is 29 days of straight engine running... wow

In western Canada you have about a 3 month season and most boaters would put on 25 to 30 in a year. 50 would be a high number for a season. Most people put on twice that average in their first season with a new boat. I'll put on 16 hours a week when I'm at the lake but that's much more than most.

We put about 75 hours a year here in Cali. Great weather, but we only go about 4 times per month in season + vacation trips. I have to work all week so that leaves one day on the weekend and It is hard to make it work every week. Hours also depend on how far you have to go for smooth water. 10-15 mins. each way could be 2 more sessions of the day.

From what I have seen, for the average wakeboarder, about 100 hours/season/yr. I have 590 on my 05 VLX though. Guess I am not that average.

why even have a boat then? 75hrs on the clock probably equates to around 300+hrs on the water for me since its not all about riding. Its about chilling with friends and enjoing the water.

I figure I have to get 100 hours a year just to get my moneys worth and another 20 just to keep my sanity. I have a 4 month nice weather season and another 2 months of full wet/dry suit weather so it's tough to rack up to many hours.

We try to get out at least 80 hours per year in SE WI. Last 2 weeks worth of rain did not help but since getting the boat in late June, we have put on 62 hours with another month of riding to go. We do not ride with wetsuits or drysuits so the season up here is a little shorter--at least for us.

I figure you are paying for a lifestyle not a situation were you need to figure a return on investment....at least as far as time spent is concerned if you have to figure what each hour or trip is actually costing......you probably should either get a less expensive boat....or a different activity just my thoughts anyway........

This is my second season with my Bu and it has 136 hours on it, but I'm not done yet for the year! So, at least 75+ hours per year.

I bought this boat in July of 2006 and I currently have 275 hours on it. We ride from February until October weather depending. Regular oil changes and good Boat Whores are a must. Still looks and runs like its brand new.

Cliff, I am always concerned/aware of how I spend my money whether or not I can afford it easily. I base my decision making on what I desire/love versus what I hope to accomplish for my and my kids future. my wife and I make a very comfortable living and I still wanna make sure I am spending my money wisely. I can easily afford my boat and more but I have plans on investing my money in a certain way that sets me up in the future i.e. real estate investments, 401k and general savings. I have a pretty gauldarn good lifestyle.
