It was free last time I was there. Keep a eye out for the rattle snakes on land and the wally's on the water.

lol, depending on wind... It tends to blow a bit up there but mornings are your best bet. I usually head up (well at least last year) weekdays from 8-2 and it was glass. Theres a few coves you can hug if the wind picks up. Always check the dam too, sometimes if the winds blowing it will blow over the dam and its nice and glassy. What campsite you guys staying at?

You can just about count on it being windy. Take some pics and post them up to remind me why I don't go there. A few shots of the ramp would be cool too.

You might get butter if you get up early enough.

well you'll be on the big side of the lake so sometimes it has its advantages. Either way you'll have fun up there. Be sure to take pictures for sure. What weekend are you going to be there? I could possibly head out on the water and show ya around. Enjoy!

Black mountain is close to buck pasture and is nice but I think the sites are small and you have to walk up a small hill.

I use to put on a annual camping trip for the guys there and I always booked Buck Pasture 12 & 13 because they are big and private and I never got a visit from the sheriff at those two sites.(ok maybe once)

I wasn't joking about the rattle snakes there. A baby tried to bite me a few years back and I spotted six on that one weekend. It's no big deal but keep a eye on the kids and pets.
