What do you think of a Gekko 7.1 I could get a 2007 for 47k.

you can get a ridiculous boat for 47k man,

Supra 24SSV, SAN TE, VLX... I have never ridden in a Revo or a Gekko at all for that matter but I can guarantee that you will find a lot of people who have ridden in the above three boats and will have a lot of positive things to say about them!

Nice profile pic, scotter.

I'm with onlyinboards, I think buying a used boat is the way to go. And for 47k, as you can see, you can get a heck of a used boat! While the Gekko might be fine I'd go with a proven wake maker like the above boats.

Do you have a particular preference for a Gekko or for a new boat?

Two thumbs down on that boat. Better off getting a bass boat.

I took a quick look at the gekko @ the boat show and thought it looked CHEESY. I think the flames down the side and the tower turned me off.

I've been in and out of a couple gekkos and feel they are not worth the money. Especially 47K!
Every owner I have met has had a laundry list of problems, as well as problems getting them warrantied. Many from different dealers.
I saw many well equiped v's at the boatshow starting around 42K. I would look at other dealers first or a nice used boat with a proven track record.
I think I would stay with the boat in your profile. It has some nice tower accessories already.

I don't have the revo, but the GTS20.
It's been a good boat for my family and haven't had any issues. Granted, this is a ski boat, not a board boat, and i think the company designed their boats to be ski first.
Maybe a better crossover or heavy ski boat.
