I think the best thing about this feat is that it will be on stunt junkies on discovery. Alot of people will see our sport that have not seen it before. Sounds like the mayor is pretty cool too. Good luck. I dont even want to think about what coming up short and hitting the landing ramp would look like.

Sweet. Landing on that down ramp is going to be tough, but over/under shooting that could be nasty. I think this is good for our sport.

I have to think it will be almost identical to the set-up that Danny and Rusty hit in Butter Effect...which is to saw, awesome (especially with a fountain in the middle). The biggest problem JD will have is going too far; it will be almost impossible to undershoot the landing if it's similar to the Butter Effect gap.

35 ft up. ouch. I guess its just like hitting a 70 ft gap on a snowboard though. I can't wait to see it.

I think this will definitely help wakeboarding get TV exposure. It may not be "what wakeboarding is all about" but this isn't about that. Wakeboarding is all about just going out and doing what you can and having fun. Then there is the professional and entertainment side. That affects about 30 riders out there (0.1% ?) . This is the kind of thing that bring TV and exposure to that part of the sport. I still believe wakeboarding comps on TV can be successful if produced right. Can you imagine having 35' gaps at comps. Dangerous but definitely increases entertainment value and viewers. GO JD and bring home some bacon.

Don't know if any of you have seen Lake Eola, it looks much more like a big pond. It will give wakeboarding bad exposure if he doesn't make it.

just to clear things up the gap was 65ft and the boat was going 28mph. Phantom how would this be bad exposure for the sport?

I really don't see how any exposure for wakeboarding, in any environment, could be bad for the sport. More power to ya JD, can't wait to see it.
