I am looking to adding a seat in my closed bow behind the drivers seat. What is the best way to build it. I want to keep it somewhat light so I can remove it to work on motor but still make it look permanant. What materials should I use??

depending on how much you wanna spend...resined plywood, starboard or aluminum honeycomb come to mind.

I guess the permanent part screws the idea of a folding lawn chair! HAHAHA.

Marine plywood for the internal structure, stainless hardware. Various densities of foam padding from a local fabric or upholstery shop. Vinyl covering. Use an electric carving knife to trim the foam slightly oversize so when you fasten the vinyl it provides tension and looks tight.

Since when is the bow behind the driver's seat?

Is this a direct drive or V-drive?

I am not sure where this seat is supposed to go. But like Tory said, used marine grade plywood. I would also recommend applying a coat of resin to the plywood to water proof them.

Good point Rod. I think Nick meant he has a closed bow boat, and therefore limited seating options. Because of this, he would like to fabricate a jump seat behind the drivers seat, next to the motor cover. The additional seating options would offer comfortable accomodations for his hottie entourage, and thus encourage them to return regularly.

I used a ton more words and maybe exagerated a bit...

You can copy a malibu jump seat... or do what i did.... i used children's sized folding lawn chairs. they were the same color as the interior.. and folded up when not in use. I used 2 of them and they worked perfectly!
