Ballast Pumps

Can someone point me in the right direction on where to get some reversable ballast pumps. Last night out on the lake (while all our ballast was full) the pump went out in our back locker. It came with the boat from the previous owner.. just wondering where to find them. Faily fast pumps too.

Simer or Jabsco seem to be the most popular reversible pumps. Jasco ballast puppys are ignition protected and can be placed in the engine/bilge area. Simer pump are not and need to be placed above those areas. Simer pumps are cheaper for that reason. You might get a better response in the boats & accessories area.

First check your impeller. If that is ok then check the electric motor. Take the pump out and pull the top off, where the wires go in. Check the top bearing to see if it free spins. Then check your brushes, the square things on the springs. clean the brushes a little with an emory cloth and also the ring where the brushes touch the spinning shaft. this might revive your pump. Mine just went out and I ordered another one, but I was able to the other one working. It might last one time or longer.

Where can you order the jasco pumps online? I have one that just went out as well.
