Can I take the two positive wires off my speakers and connect them to a clip that has one connection to the amp? or do the speaker wires need to connect at a different point and then just wire the one wire to the amp?

You can take two wires and splice them together into one wire and then into the amp. The only problem is that the power will be split between the two speakers, so if you were pumping out 100 Watts then you will only be getting a portion of that wattage to each speaker. You also will not have stereo if you are putting the wires together. Some people would consider putting the wires together "riggin' it," but it will make music come out of the speaker without harming anything.

I have a clip that has one clip on one end and two clips on the top. I wanted to use that.
