global warming my ass... Our mountain hasn't had a year like this in the last 5 or 6 years atleast. And our reservoirs and rivers, are pretty damn full some flooding. What you need is some rain down there, and not so much dry time.

you can some of our rain. i'w waiting for Noah's ark to go floating by. Forty days and forty nights of rain are nothing compared to the winter we are having in the northwest.

walt, texas stays pretty dry--save the occasional random thunder storm--so the little rain we do get is vital. all it takes is a few inches (or a couple feet in this case) under the average and the lakes drop pretty quick. most texas lakes are supposed to be constant level lakes, so people build their docks as such. our lake is over 5 ft. down with the drought and because we supply the dallas/fort worth area with most of their water. it's looking like a lot of boats will be trapped all year. making it worse, most boat ramps on our lake aren't paved far enough down to get anything more than a bass boat in and out in these conditions. erin, nope, lakes are down significantly everywhere. benjamin, which obstacles are closed? i was thinking about going down to tsr in a couple weeks but only if at least one of the kickers and the box is open

that new slider their building is absolutely nuts, I wonder who will be the first to hit it? jeff, it's a rail type slider high off the water that goes up at incline into 2 humps and then a decline. I can't really explain it to well, guess you just have to see it.

it has a slight incline to a long flat with two big humps at the end, it's 120 feet long. there is a pic at the tsr myspace page.

If we don't get some snow or have a wet spring/summer it's going to be another year of low lakes and some big fires up this way. Our last winter was really mild but we had a relatively wet summer, it got to the point where we'd just keep riding as long as it wasn't pouring or thundering.

A couple different factors are working against us here in TX. Along w/the lack of rain, the dams at Livingston and Conroe were damaged by Katrina. The Livingston dam will not be repaired until late June so it will stay low regardless of rain until then. Conroe dam should be fixed sooner or may already be fixed. Not positive.

I thought my lake, Kingsley Lake, in Florida was drying up for a while because it was about 6ft. down at one point. We had to dredge out our boat lift so we could get the boat out, but now it's up so much the dock is almost under water. I hope your lake isn't drying up, but I don't think it is.

East texas doesn't have any katrina damage, fortunately, but all the lakes are down 4-6 ft. we got some much needed rain over the weekend and most lakes saw a foot increase in water level. but you still can't launch at most of the lakes we go to
