i picked up a 2003 cwb absolute platinum for dirt cheap brand new over the winter and was wondering if the length(134) is going to affect my riding since i rode the absolute 141 before that.
You will defintely feel a differnce when you get on the water. Probably won't get as much pop, and you will have more drag on the smaller board. Like said above what is your weight? This too will make a huge difference.
It's all about preference. But odds are you will want a bigger board. My friend is your size & rides a (the old)premier 135. I bet if you looked around on the site you might find someone wanting to trade to a smaller size. Look into it!
so am i putting myself at risk for injuries riding a shorter board bc i have heard if u are bigger and ride a shorter board you tend to have more knee injuries etc.. i went out sunday and rode on the 134 all day and loved the pop it had off of the wake. it really seemed like i could throw the board on spins a little better too. i just really like this board!!!
wes- if it feels ok then get it, people might say it puts you at more risk for knee injuries is because the landing will be a little harder than a bigger board. but if you like the way it rides then it doesnt really matter
