I have found a 1971 Nautique, completely redone. Interior, exterior, everything. I was wondering if anyone has ridden behind one (wakeboarding). Hows the wake one these early CC's. I believe it is a skier 17' with a 302. Will I be able to ballast this boat for a bigger wake or is it too small to handle and weight? Thanks for the input.

I currently own a 1975 Skier with a 302, 220 hp. I'm will be selling this boat soon because we bought a new 2004 DD Malibu Wakesetter.
Not being a wakeboarding expert, I can tell you from experience that the little old Correct Craft is an excellant all around boat. It is a breeze to trailer, dependable as hell, goes like stink, and sounds like a hotrod. Of course it was made way before wakeboarding so the wake is tailored more for skiing. I've seen a couple with a seat type fatsack near the transom and the wake was decent. The only problem with these boats is their size. Storage is non-existant and seating is limited.

We have a 6' FlitePipe in ours, which clamps to the existing pylon.

From what I've seen the next newer model (2001 style) throws a bigger wake, but either way you can't beat these boats for dependability. BTW, you can run all day on 15 gallons!
Good luck.
