Cooper, I see that you are in Dallas, TX and so am I. I would take a look at 3m perfect 3000 rubbing compound (3m 06060) to remove those 2000 grit scratches. I would use a wool pad to remove the scratches. You are going to have to work very hard with the finesse-it to remove those scratches. After the 3m perfect 3000 you can decide if you want to use the finesse it. IF you do, switch over to a foam pad. I did not have to when I did mine this summer. Look up English Color here is Dallas. They can get you what you need (Compound, Polish, Backing plate and pads) Check out Northern Tool, I think they have a couple of stores in DFW. I picked up a polisher for under $40 and it works great.
