Anyone used "3M 4200 Marine Adhesive" before? I am going to remove my intake grate and re-install, West Marin said this stuff works well and should seal up the grate with no leakage. Just wanted to find out if anyone has used it before and what were the results. Everything else I have used by 3M has been great.
5200 in not considered to be removable, 4200 is a slightly softer version for use in applications that are not permanent. Both can be used under the waterline.
Used 4200 to attache my depth finder to the inside bottom of my hull and this stuff is the shizz! Make sure to clean & degrease the area it will adhere to. Acetone ought to do the trick.
3M marine adhesive is the best out there, that simple. I have used the 4200 to seal the new brackets for my swim deck. Easy to work with and does the job perfectly.
Considering Wakemakers.com said I could use the 3200 series, I am assuming the 4200 series should only be better? They did have the 5200, but I thought "permanent" was a little to aggressive if I ever wanted to remove the intake grate again.
