I sure don't want to sound like I'm bashing the Sharkskin cover, I think mine was just a bad batch. Within the first year it faded terribly, it started off bright yellow and ended up looking white. It still was waterproof so I didnt mind too much, then after the second year it no longer was water proof, I treated it at least twice a year with 303 fabric treatment. It even developed several small pinholes in it. When I sent the pictures to Westland, the rep took them to engineering and they could not believe it used to be yellow. The boat is stored outside, but no trees are around, it just deteriorated in the Florida sun. Westland has never saw a cover in as bad a shape as mine. They were great to deal with.
