I am with Kenneth. I am not a big fan of what they did to the windshield in 08 or 09.

To me it seems like they took a step backwards with their tower design. The older Illusion flowed so smoothly and had nicer lines IMO than the new one.

One question: How does a MC guy get a pic of a Malibu before anyone else? Must have Malibu envy, right NuBu?

Roddyrod- i totally agree with you i have a malibu but i would have loved the new tower if they kept same swoop as the old one but added the new effects on the new one. the new tower kinda breaks the smooth lines up.

I like it, the Corvette style gussets are cool and I for one like the windshields that they are doing. They are unique. I think I would probably choose the Illusion tower over the one shown above.

I'd have to go with the Titan tower on the next boat.

I'm with everyone else. Like the original illusion and old windshield better. Definitely not a fan of that reflective metal stuff on the windshield that they started doing last year. Still a good looking boat though.

A few times we have been running back home huddled under the windshield to block the rain -- I bet at those "fashion" holes in the windshield are really useful then.

Its simple... 1) that tower is much cheaper to make 2) that windshield is much cheaper to make still, its a nice boat.

"1) that tower is much cheaper to make 2) that windshield is much cheaper to make " #1 im not going to agree with you on. its the same amount of material and besides that they spent more money on r and d for the new tower then just sticking with the old. #2 i will agree with. 1 piece of curved glass continuous is probably twice the cost of 2 slightly curved pices jointed together by that ugly strip. i remember when they first put it in the vtx in 07 and they had to recall because the windshields would shatter if you touched it wrong in the bottom corner. and since no one has brought it up i will just through it out there now. whats the deal with the new " auto wedge" its supposed to set it self after the boat goes on plane. sounds cool but it sounds like another electronic toy to malfunction. stick to basics and what we the riders want. i have a feeling we are heading down a technology path that will fail. common sense says water and electronics dont mix. 08 fly by wire recall, whats next. i do have to say they are smart and keeping the best of there line as the ride series. i think you will see alot of those boats sold, just like mc kept the v205 i hope bu keeps the wake hull for some time. and who knows maybe cc will get the point and bring back the old 210........ but it is a beautiful boat im just going to hold on to my 07 for a little while i think it might retain some value

When I first came across the 04 wakesetter I thought the boat was good looking but like most things decent everybody buys one until you can't make your way through all the bu's at the beach.Kinda reminds me of the import scene years back when they would collect in parking lots.. As for the current changes I think bu is trying to hold onto a dead style.Honestly the changes to the new boats where for the worst. If they don't come up with some new ideas there market share is going to slip to others. Fad washing away is what comes to mind now. Btw thats a cute Tige slash copycat on the side.

hah...gotta love Wakeworld. One dude is worried that all the new electronic features mean more of a possibility of them breaking, and two posts later some dude says Malibu needs to come up with some new ideas otherwise their market share might slip.

heh. Tige owners seem to be loving the fact that Malibu copied their "scalloped" hull even after someone quoted WakeOrigin.com saying that the inspiration likely came from Malibu's own Corvette boat... http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7564

Sorry for the misinformation, Scott, I'll go right now and correct that....it should read "Malibu's Corvette boat copies the Tige RZ2 scallops". Hows that?

I'm with adam, where I live everyone weekender who learns I/O's are lame gets a malibu and struts around like cock of the block... Clearly not all malibu owners are like this but the other day some guy at his second home actually said this to me: "Hey what kinda boat you got there?" --Nautique(our decals are gone, okay question) "Oh, mine is a malibu... the dealer said this is the best inboard boat you can buy" --Awesome "If you ever to take a ride in it let me know its fast as hell" In our area these are the people who own malibu's I blame it on the fact the only dealer near is malibu run by a guy with a mullet... Besides the tower the new VLX looks nice

you have never step on an new 08 pad. have you Bill. they completely went away from the shinny slick pad from 07 too a really grippy pad almost like the soft grip on some wake skaes. you ca tell its the same pad on that 09 i actually have a replacement 08 pad sitting in my garage just awaiting to be placed in service. transom step does look sik though, nice place to park it while gearing up for your set.
