you all know how i feel about the marius.
my review of the marius
quote:the marius has a sick pop, somewhat abrupt for a board w/ continuous rocker. the edge hold is real tight (w/ center fins in) with quick edge-to-edge transition. it's a little grippy, but still relatively easy to break free. the best thing about the board is its landings. the landings are super soft!
check it out when you can. it's a super fun board to ride!
my review of marius w/ smaller fins
quote:i got some smaller fins for the marius (big thanks to hahn!) but haven't had the chance to check it out until this past saturday. talk about a different ride! it didn't seem as slow out in the flats. it still held its edge and tracked really well, but still had a loose feeling. the release off the wake is much, MUCH quicker! the pop was still big and the landings were still super soft.
for marius owners who ride w/ the bigger fins, i highly recommend riding it w/ the smaller fins. if you liked it w/ the bigger fins, you'll love it w/ the smaller fins!
disclaimer: this thread is by no means a promise that you will achieve the same results, nor is it a promise that you will have positive outcome like i did. the results were from MY style of riding. you may end up w/ different results.
rode the shane yesterday. the pop was sick, landings were soft, edge-hold (even w/ the smaller cupped-fins) was good and speed wasn't bad. i did get worked on it as i had been riding the marius (continuous rocker), and the shane was just a way different ride. i am looking forward to riding the shane again, though.
