Scott- two Red Bulls to keep up with the little guy last night. He did alright though slept from 11-2 and then 3- 7:30. Not bad for a new one. My Yellow, and Black labs were up all night for the first couple of nights. Diggs- Malibu guy, come on. I got a cat for my mom when her last one got hit and named him Malibu, so thats out. Richard- Boomer sounds good, have to ask the girl about that one.

Clay, I have crates, cages, gates and just about anything else you might need for a dog. Just let me know what you need. One of Dominique's co-workers just got female chocolate lab about the same age if he needs a playmate...

Our retriever is named Parks. I know, not very original, but I think it fits for a dog. Parks, if you're reading this, sorry buddy. I didn't have the heart to tell you last August.

OMG the floodgates have opened up. Clay post's a pick of his dog and everyone else posts a pick of there dog. LOL I guess its kind of like how when someone post's a pick of there system I’m excited to share my pick’s and look at other's. LOL Dogs and boats do they mix? Before I met Mike and Ashley and their dog that comes on the boat with them every time I would have said NO. IMO a dog only wrecks the boat and is another thing to get in the way but Mike and Ashleys dog is supe small and is fun to have on board. If you have a small dog and a big boat I can see how bringing them wouldn’t be a problem. But if you have a dog that is larger then lets say anything over 20 lbs then I could see it being a pain. That Pug sure is cute! But to each his own. It’s your boat use it in any way that brings you joy. I have a story read on at own risk: I can say that dog's on boat's definitely had something to do with me not getting into boat's 5-10 yeas earlier than I did. As a kid my parents had a boat and a place at Lake Comanche and let us use it as we liked. My 2 brothers and I took the boat out when ever we wanted to and did what we liked tube and knee boarded. When I met my wife at 17 her parents had a boat and a place at the lake. When I was invited to go out with them I thought it would be just as how my brothers and I used the boat at our place. Ya know parents would come out some of the time but the rest of the time the kids could take out the boat out by them self's. Was I in for a big lesson? My Wife’s father was a SKI NAZI. #1 up super early in the morning and only ski. Nothing else. #2 He had to be on the boat for it to be in use so there would be no kid outings like at my parents place. #3 the freekin dog named "SPARKY" god rest his soul. This Hyper Active mutt on crack with talons for nails would run back and forth in unison in the boat over you and what ever else as my wife’s father ski's back and forth. All while my wife’s sister who was a nervous wreck and should not have been driving the boat shouted at all of us because you had to sit in a certain place in the boat when you made a hard turn or the boat would seem like it was going to flip over. This scenario with the boat the crazy sister driver the outa control dog the Ski Nazi father and me being 17 and not having established a place where I could say anything to make a suggestion like leave the dog at home and let me drive made me and my wife do the polar opposite of what ever the family was doing at the lake and with there boat. If they were at the lake we were dirt bike riding ect. Anything to be outa that situation. Several years later when they lost interest in the lake I was re-introduced to boats and how much fun they were. Pretty funny. Yes its sad. But I feel like I appreciate having my own boat and set up because of it. The sweet isn’t as sweet with out the sour.

Clayton, Congrats on the new pup. He looks like a winner! I was surprised to see how much he looked like our new boy. About 4 weeks ago, Kim and I, after many days of searching, picked up a chocolate lab (8 weeks). Other than a few exceptions, he has been one of the best puppies I have ever had. He is 12 weeks now, and doing great. Housebroken in 3 days. We are thinking about picking him up a GF right after Christmas. Probably have one litter just for the experience. Anyway.... we too were going around on names, and decided to call him "Raley". Perfect for him. His GF, when she comes along, will probably be "Malibu", or "Bu". Yea, I know, I know. We can't help it! Here are a couple pics. Proud mama, and one pic of how stressed he is in his new home. Enjoy you new flagger!

Dog threads always go over well. Congrats on the beautiful puppy! I had a chocolate lab as my boat buddy. Only once during her life, did I take the boat out to the lake or Delta without her. The Golden Retriever was Aaron Aubrey's dog. (Message edited by Peter_C on December 11, 2006)

It is just a huge blanket I put in the back seat my truck to try to catch some of the dog hair. I pull it between the front seats like that to make a little barrier so they cant jump up in the front seat when my wife is with me.

holy crap annette. that is an incredible looking golden. birdie doesn't like the small boat too much, but we do agree on the houseboat. if she's not sleeping, she usually just sits on a thin pool lounger in the middle of a cove at shasta. she wouldn't leave if she had to.

True Story: My Springer Spaniel loved the water and loved to fetch. This was my dog growing up and that's what I thought all dogs do. She is no longer with us, and I decided to get another dog that the family and I could enjoy together(friendly, good with kidz, but an active as well as energetic 4 legged friend). I rescued a 6 month old Black Lab, with a little Ridgeback and Chow flavor, from the local shelter. Great choice! Luvs everybody, house broken in 1 week, stays in my yard and doesn't wander (no fenced front yard). The dog is the PEEFECT family pet,Right? At about a year old we take him camping somewhere on the Delta with friends. This is when I saw his true colors. He saw his 4 legged friend out in the water and bolted out to play with him. He got about 2 strides into the water, and I swear he left skid marks on the water! He made a 180 and will not go near the water at all. With these breeds, how could I go wrong? Years of comfort and coaxing we have come to the conclusion, he is deathly afraid of going into the water. And fetching? He used to bring the ball back one time and on the second throw, he would look at you and say, "I fell for that once, not again. You get it". I have never seen a Lab that feared water. Anybody else have a water shy dog? Bowtie(the wife wouldn't let me name him Chevy) is an awsome dog, but since I got the boat, I won't even try to get him in. He just lays around the camp waiting for our return.

Clayton! Sorry forgot the topic was your dog, and not everybodys dogs.I lost focus and proceeded to ramble on (sorry).Your new member to the family is cute and he's gonna have paws big enuff to put in ski boots. How about naming him "Mango" or "Marly"? Just a couplle of names to throw out. I'm looking at getting another dog (yes Bowtie is still with us, but I need some young energy to get him kick started now)and these are cool names (IMO) I was considering.Enjoy your new friend!!!!

Hey Thanks everyone for the compliments and ideas for names. We decided to name him Riley. he has ben extremely good and has already started to learn sit, shake, laydown and stay. He is very smart and extremely mellow. I thought maybe somthing was wrong with him but he went in for his check-up this morning and evrything is fine. We call him "Fatman" for his nickname, 10 weeks and 16.6 pounds.
