I'm hoping that someone may be able to help me. I was recently asked about a boat crash photo showing a wakeboard boat on top of a pontoon boat. I'm assuming that the crash was either in Oregon/Washington or California simply because someone had seen photos of the boats. I was hoping that someone had a/the photo and maybe some information about the actual crash. From what I was told it was a Calabria on top of Sun Tracker Pontoon boat. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah me to, would love to see that as long as nobody got hurt. You really need to pay attention when you are at the wheel. I turned my head last summer for what seemed like 5 seconds and when I turned around my heart sank. I really could have hurt someone. Luckily everything went fine

Grady it happened at Shasta and there is a photo at Antlers. If I remember correctly reports said driver was blinded by the sun and no alcohol was involved.

Not really crashes, but...those pics of swamped boats in Texas from a storm last summer were pretty crazy. Also, there was a pic some time ago of a new Centurion or Supra (if I recall correctly) sitting on the bottom of a lake - that was wicked...and sad.

I don't think I have a pic of it. But in 01, I was on my way home from the lake and some lady pulled out only like 60ft in front of me from a cross street. I swerved to miss her and hit a tree. The boat end up like 4 or 5ft in the back of the van, over the back seat. Its a good thing no one was back there. It was just me and my lil bro in the van, we were both ok. The lady just drove away. But as she crossed the road she cut off some one goin the other way also, and that guy was a off duty cop. So he got her plates and then came back and helped us. I don't have any pics of the boat in the back of the van, but i have some of them after. I will try to find them.

that nauti's situation isn't as bad as it looks l think. i tend to believe that the running gear has been surrounded by the sand when the water was up and then when the water receded the boat was left resting on the hull...hopefully.

Looks like Grady and Things00 tried to modify their boats so they can ride at Canyon Lake. ( I think they have the size restrictions) (Message edited by lukeduke95 on December 06, 2005)

the story behind that fountain in the trees is as follows: the guy picked it up that day, sped way up, lost control, i think the throttle stuck, and jumped out. it happened the FIRST DAY he owned it!!!

That really sucks when your baby gets hurt like that. I know in my case the boat accelerate and was sitting on the back off the explorer. Wife was driving, so I can't say for sure if it was the boat or the wife. Regardless an accident.

Poser - that's it...we have another one just like it here in the shop...06 ' Phae - you don't know if there are pictures of that Shasta crash do you? I'm trying to gather pictures for a boating safety class. Thanks.

Jan: It was tied to the house boat in lake powell. There was a huge storm during the night. The water waved up over the boat so much that it sank.The wierd thing is that it didn't submerge all the way. They did get the boat out though.}

Wakeitup, the reason it didn't submerge is because most boat manufacturers inject floatation foam in the floor and gunnels.Just FyI

Its a good thing that there wasn't lots of solid ballast in it or it probably would have been on the bottom.

Not a 'real' crash but here's my bayliner stuck on the sandbar at the north end of Lake Havasu...we had no idea the lake was that shallow. We hit it at about 30mph while i was skiing, it went from 30 to 0 in a matter of feet, it was pretty intense. Luckily no one got hurt and the boat worked great after we pushed it off the bar.

This was at BoardStock 05... the people got hit pretty hard out in Clear Lake. They were staying in the same campsite as us, and came back to the docks/marina. Hella ambulances and fire trucks came too, quite a mess. I took this from the dock as they were winching the boat out of the water

I know that “hanging truck” picture has been posted many times before but I was wondering what happened to the guy in the truck? I also find it hard to believe that the hitch would stay connected at that angle and doubt the safety cables are strong enough to support the weight of the truck. I would appreciate any information on that picture. I do know it is old hat so if it has been discussed before, I apologize.

If you look closely at the photo, the front end of the truck looks like it is resting on a rock that is prodtruding out from the cliff. Also there looks to be a guy that is getting ready to scale the cliff with a rope to go get I believe it looks like a women in the truck not a man. I could be wrong but Im pretty sure thats what I said.

Here's one that I've been looking for, not a ski boat but it's a pretty incredible series of pictures. I can't believe that the boat recovered and went on to catch up to its train of coal barges. http://www.breathing.com/articles/persistence.htm

Grady, That crash actually took place on Lake Washington last summer. The crash was at night- I saw the pics on the news and the cal air HIT a bayliner killing one of the passengers on board. the boat was towed into Jean Coulon Park in Renton - it still floated- but not very cool. I used to live in Seattle until last month and remember this well- nobody likes to see this kind of thing.
