I was wondering the correct way to hit a small wake. There is no way I could weigh down my boat any more. I have a pylon and I just want to get as much air as I can. I have a good board. I have the parks 143.
Yeah, like Rod says it's the same thing on a small or big wake. The only thing that changes is your timing. Pop, edging and everything else is the same.
DOUBLE UP Also, with the Parks (due to the agressive 3-stage rocker) you really need to punch the tail down at the wake to get ups. Stomp it and explode off the top.
i have been riding behind a small wake for 5 years. So all i can say is that you have good technique to get the results that others might get without any.
If you mainly ride behind a small wake, youŽll probably find that a board with a smaller rocker works better. Something to think about when youŽre in the market for a new one. Also, if you ever plateau, just see it as an opportunity to work on riding switch and wakeskating.
I too have done my fair share of small wake riding and to get alot of pop, you gotta pump the wake like you were skating a half pipe. It takes some getting used to, but in time you learn how to get petty big air on next to no wake. also as Tyler says a smaller rocker will make it more comfortable. I like to switch to a shorter board for small wakes, just makes it more fun.
