A little overkill to have a 3500 dually, but its also for towing a 35' toy hauler.

I was doing a U-turn on some back road, got the tires a little off the pavement (was really wet), and the truck slid sideways down into the ditch. That picture is a good 1/8 mile from where I slid - I drove it to that point but couldn't get out.

Done..... although it's a bit hard to see in this shot.... loaded up & headed out to Banks Lake in the morning.
The Av is runnin 20" black powdercoated rims & Cooper Zeons. They did great all winter long. And then cleaned up nice come springtime.
BTW, the boat is sitting on 17" Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S..... yep, mud & snow tires. With over 10k miles on them at the moment. Still doin good.

Don't see that everyday. I had to Google that to find that Session made some diesel boats like 5 or 6 yrs ago. Are they still in business? Hows the boat drive?

I don't think they're in business anymore. It drives great. Mine came with 6.2 Mercruiser. I switched it to diesel myself for this summer. I couldn't find any info on what engine they used for the factory diesel. I'd like to find out.

Switched it? As in it was a gas engine & you converted it to diesel? You should start a new thread & show off some pics of what ya got there. Plenty of dieseljunkys here that will love to see more about it.

Please do.
Start a thread on it.
That's better than beer in a can!
I'd love to have a Dmax in my boat, only because a Cummins B series 6bt would be tooooo loooong!
Imagine that, spin a huge prop, still comes out of the hole like a ski boat and does 50+mph!

I'm a Cummins fan but unfortunately it would not work for it in every way. Too heavy, wouldn't fit, Smaller RPM range, and would need another transmission and Vdrive to handle the torque which would make it even longer.

What is up with the huge lifted diesel trucks that have huge rims and low pro tires that are way too small. I saw a lot of trucks like that when I drove through cali last week.

We usually only tow a couple hundred feet to a private ramp and use either my F150 Platinum EB or my wife's Escalade. Whenever we go on trips with the boat, we pretty much always use the Escalade for the extra room.
I've had the 24" replica wheels on it for awhile (though I just got a fresh set and new Pirelli tires). I recently lowered it and installed front and rear sway bars and new Bilstein struts and shocks which keep the factory air ride.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Just remembered I had this pic on my phone.... I originally towed this to the lake when we got it a few years ago, but this time was just a pull out over night to do some quick maintenance and upgrades. It's a 35' x 10' boat on a 40' trailer. Front of truck to back of the twin merc 50's is about 66', if I remember right.....

Sweet looking, but never would I attempt this setup. Good luck in the hills of TN. My 2006 Suburban is just capable of handling my 230.

Why? 7200lb tow rating on the 2014 SRT8 Grand Cherokee. 470 hp, 465 lb-ft torque. 15" discs with brembo 6 piston calipers in front, 13.7" and four pistons in the back. 5200lb curb weight.
Not capable enough? I laugh that a good amount of trucks in this thread are bigger than my buddies tow vehicles; considering they are towing 36' plus go-fast boats. If you like big trucks, fine. Don't justify it by ragging on other vehicles towing capabilities though...

Because the dry weight of the boat alone is 5800 plus 600lbs or so of fuel then add your gear cooler etc with the trailer it is well above 7200. Guy i know has a g23 and he pulls it with a half ton gmc with the 6.0L max and its about all the truck can handle. His tow rating is 10,000.
