Not a good start by Alabama, but only down by 6 with 2 turnovers...they are dodging the big 6...And with McCoy out, there chances have to go up. Should also mention that I know it is still very early. And that is how fast games turn around. I'm looking for Alabama to start rolling. Especially with a backup QB on the opposition. Still a chance he'll come back in the second half. Might already be too late though.

"the game doesn't count anymore" How does that work? Colt's injury is a bad deal, for sure, but I thought two football teams were playing for the championship. One player gets injured, and the game doesn't mean anything? I don't think so. And I don't think you'd be saying that if it was Ingram who was injured.

I wouldn't take it so literal. It's not the same as having both teams firing on all cylinders and the better team wins. I know what you are saying, but I get what benjamin is saying too.

Benjamin, The game means the following: Texas was a one man team. They lost their man. They'll be fourth behind FL and Boise State. Sleep tight!

If you can't get hit by the big boys than you shouldn't be playing in the big game.

I was just kidding about the saying the game didn't count...BUT...when it's all said and done...Alabama wins, everyone will say "well Texas didn't have Colt" and take away from Alabama's win. I would rather see Alabama beat Texas with Colt in than beat a team with a severely inexperienced qb

getting interesting... Personally, I'd love to see a true freshman QB take them to the promised land. Ben, agreed on the comments if AL wins. There will always be an asterisk next to it. TX wins....not so much.

Officials are SCREWING Texas hard in this one. No pass interference against AL and then to just call a BS pass interference against TX. Gimme a freaking break!! Hate to guess....but the way the TX defense is playing - TX would be up if Colt was not hurt. But, TX still has a shot! Another 3rd down stop just now! Woo hoo

Not enough players on field during that last punt hence the timeout being called. Hold to a FG and still got hope.

Texas still had a chance even with the back up. Played good defense in the second half and were making a comeback until that fumble.

That really makes me wonder what Texas could of done WITH Colt. Too bad we wont find out. I see Texas finishing 3rd. The didn't get owned like Florida did even with the back-up quarter back.

I wouldn't be too thrilled with nearly getting beat by a team who's qb was born in 1991 and was playing highschool ball last year... I like Ingram though. He's a stand up guy and not a thug like some of the other up and comers

Just like a bitter Aggie to root against Texas in any situation. I always root for teams from TX in big games, unless they're playing UT. The only team I can't root for is OU.

I thought the receivers from Texas blew this game. Way too many dropped passes in very crucial periods of time. Even lost a touch down from the freshman, who hit the receiver right in the hands. Very next play he threw an interception. I think Albama was very fortunate to win. That being said, Albama was definitely affected by Ingram cramping up in the 2nd half.

Exactly. Your OU is my Texas. Bitter? Texas lost their chance at winning a national championship and you think I'm bitter? Oh quite the opposite my friend! I just can't stand Texas fans plus them winning does nothing good for future Aggie recruiting. Why would I route for them? Because I live in Texas? I also live in Dallas so am I obligated to route for SMU?

Some info on Colt making the decision not to come back in the game, that had to be so tough: Colt had just lied to the Texas doctors and said that he was capable of returning to the BCS title game against Alabama. A hit by the Tide’s Marcell Dareus, on the fifth play of the game, had sent him to this locker room. He wanted back out there. So he tried to sound convincing despite the fact his arm felt “like a noodle.”... So Colt gripped the ball, stared at his dad and thought, “It’s just a simple throw.” He threw. The ball went soft and wide. Everyone grimaced. “Give it to me again,” Colt demanded. Brad got the ball and gave it back to his son. The next throw was the same, bouncing harmlessly away. “Give it to me again,” Colt said, again. Brad did. It was the same. It was over. Colt couldn’t throw it 7 yards to his own father. “My arm was dead,” he said. The dad hugged his son. The son broke down and cried. “There’s no pain on my body,” Colt said later. “If I was a free safety, I’d go out there and make a tackle. I [just] have no strength to throw a football.” http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=dw-texasqbs010810&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

Alabama didn't show up for that game the way they did most of the season. So yes, Texas was without McCoy, but Texas didn't face a top 5 team in Bama lastnight either. So in the end, all things given, the W went to the better overall team on the year. An arguement against those who want to "asterisk"the game or moan, "but Colt wasn't in the game." No worries though, I know how you all feel. Eight games out of ten, Florida shows up and beats Alabama. Therefore, I propose this as my hypothetical (making excuses) top 5: 1. Florida 2. Alabama 3. Boise State 4. Texas 5. BYU

Fair enough, Eubanks. Just don't understand all the hate that comes our way from such a close neighbor, especially when it goes largely unreciprocated. Inferiority complex, I guess.

I do like Colt though and definitely wish him the best. I don't think it is required of me as a Texan to route for Texas University.}

Did anybody get video of that "idiot" that security had to remove off the field? Was it some sort of streaker? They didn't show it up close by when they showed the entire bowl game zoomed out you could see someone scrambling around on the field.
