In a nut shell Zero Off owns the GPS based speed control and they bought the rights to pull sanctioned tournaments from here on out. It gets dicey as to what systems you can run in new boats. With MC anything that runs V-dig (everything except the X-1 and X-7) you get Perfect Pass standard. I'm pretty sure the problem with aftermarket perfect pass in 09's is that most 09's are running a new ECM making it cost prohibitive to put Perfect Pass in them. The way I understand is that it can be done, but at a very high cost and only in the aftermarket world.

Tampa - Have you personally ever been in an X-14? With stock ballast and three friends in an X-14 I was throwing back rolls and 3s with no problem whatsoever. When we were done riding for the day, we surfed it with a 4'8" Hyperlite Broadcast. Im 160 and my friends are 180 and 195. No issue whatsoever. So now what were you saying about a ski specific boat and nothing but looks?

Stanfield- "Dont think the swivel racks are worth what MC charges for them." ha have you ever looked into purchasing a C&C machine?????? Or cost of operating one plus all the billet aluminum??? Until you do I wouldnt say they arent worth what MC charges for them

1. MC's swivel racks are worth whatever penny MC charges for them. 2. Sully and his family have made the choice and are requesting pictures and options. a. there has been A LOT of BS on this post... but only ONE picture. b. if you don't know what comes standard and what the options are, OR you don't have a picture....then you are of NO help to Sully...so don't post.... Okay. As you were...

I use to have a 2001 Xstar(X1). We skiied behind it all the time in the course. My brother runs 22@36, and me at 15@34. So unless your skiing tournaments, that boat will do fine. I will add that we only had two people in the boat. With four plus, you see a noticable difference in the wake.

Ronix That was not my point I have ridden with guys that can throw the same off of a no ballast wake in an older Maristar and they are both bigger than your crew in weight. We have all seen the vid of the guy on a mono directional board throwing that stuff behind an outboard. However, we know wake specific boats make a difference. Totally missed my point if its is slalom specific why show it off with surf boards and wakeboard racks or force them to put them on the tower. Throw on the ski racks baby. The boat is beautiful and Sully is going to have a blast. I would take that boat in a second. John I am done posting. Isnt there a slalom board to ask about x14 in that might have gotten some better ski info?? Just curious on that one.

Just to clarify and if it's been posted sorry. -Prostar 214 = Slalom -X14 = Crossover Has KGB hard tank ballast system underneath deck. It is a good crossover direct drive for slalom/wakeboarding and surfing. Hence the tower/board racks Tampa. Have a great weekend all.

J., same exact boat. The only difference is the graphics and standard features. You can build a 214 to have everything that an X14 has

and the Prostar has better graphics.. Paul that's pretty impressive. Does your brother compete at all? He can prob do a lot better behind a slalom boat, eh?

I didn't read all these posts, I was just throwing in my 2c. Sure a dd will pull better, but like he said in the beginning, he wanted a wake for boarding as well for his son. Adub, he use to. We use to have a 205dd, and I can't notice a difference once you are past 32. I am sure a 190 would be nicer, but we havent skiied behind one since the mid 90s, so I don't really remember what it was like. He could never get past the 22. Actually I am not sure he ever cleaned a pass at that.

Sully - Getting back to the point of this thread, here are a few pics of some different colors. Option wise, your boat sounds great! A few suggestions: iPod interface, tower mirror bracket, depth finder and possibly tower speakers. Also, if the boat sits for an extended period of time, the on-board battery charger may be something worth looking into... Just my $.02... Either way, Congrats! You're going to love that thing!

I didnt read all the links so if someone mentioned it, sorry. But I would sign up for Mastercrafts FanFare 2008. Its basically a full red carpet experience where you get to visit the Mastercraft Factory, drive the boats, check out the build process and financially, lets just say they make it worth your wild. go to www.mastercraft.com and sign up or check with your local dealer for dates and times available

I agree with Mark M. I spent Friday at the MC factory and had the opportunity to drive the X-14 v-drive along with many more! I have some nice pics of the X-14 on the water. Sorry no time to edit and post right now.}

I heard from a MC dealer, so take it for what its worth, but they went out with professional 3-event skiiers and they LOVED it. They said over 32 it was FLAT and SOFT. He didn't speak much about the wakeboard wake but the skiiers really loved it.

You should take the bullseye and the other random graphics off and put stars on. Throw it up old school. Nice choice. That is a great boat.

I took these at the factory 2 weeks ago. 4 people in the boat wakeboard @ 22-23mph & slalom wake @ 30 Really nice boat, blast to drive, super responsive and turned on a dime with full ballast. Unique and sharp looking in person.

I took the photos on www.waterskis.com didnt get any wakeboard wake shots as the boat was a 214V and did not have ballast. Congrats Sully! Can't wait for spring to get that boat out!

Nice article. I like how MC has the slap back at the I/O manufacturers pics and diagrams for safety and all that. Is the back pylon removable?
