This is for informational purposes only. If there was a cable park built in around Stockton how many of you would have annual passes? How many times per week do you think you would ride it? How many times per month? Do you think 10-15 people per day would ride during the weekdays? Maybe 25-35 on the weekends?

I'd check it out occasionally - couple times a year for sure. Heat the water and put it indoor and I'll show up all winter. A long time ago there was a cable park in Manteca at some water park (Oakwook Lake I think). Not sure what happened to it.

Granted it also gets pretty damn cold in KC and OKLA right? But I think they close theirs. Some people wont be riding in the winter obviously. Others will. I'm sure of it. The demand is there 200 fold. Don't you think? If TSR stays open all year could a Stockton park stay open all year. So would you ride it or not? It could be closed in the winter as well depending on demand. I guess I should also list your summer and winter riding times as well. Winter what 4 pulls a month? How cold does the water get 48, air 55? Thats drysuit weather right?

55 would be nice but average winter Temp in Stockton is 45 degrees. With snow boarding being so close I think the winter draw would be real tuff. Annual passes are a very small part of the money that you can count on. The daily 2 and 4 hour passes are what will keep you afloat.

i'd be there every damn day...winter/fall/spring/summer. You can ride on the Delta in Stockton/Tracy/Sac year round. The best time of the year to ride is in the Fall! No Doubt...no wind and no boats

id ride there multiple times a week and through out the winter cause they invented something i like to call the drysuit and wetsuit for the winter. This is crazy cause me and some people were just talking how stockton would be a great spot cause its pretty centrally located and has access from 5 and 99.

i would be there alot, and a bunch of my friends would be there too. actually it would more depend on the rails/obsticals that you have in the water. If they were sick and fun...you will have a crowd.

Manteca Water Slides closed down 2-3 years ago. Not sure why but probably because of lack of money. But again, I thought that they were going to build homes on that site.

I would be all over it and even consider moving if there was a legitimate cable in the CA bay area (especially near the delta).

i'd be there all day everyday. forget riding behind a boat with these gas prices. and for the price of an annual pass compared to gas you'd spend all summer and how much riding time you get. think about. someone needs to build on already.

I'd be there prob 2 times a month in winter. I HATE being cold and only snowboard to get my fix. I think you might need to heat the water or worst case and maybe a better/cheaper idea would be to rent drysuits or wetsuits. Having it in a big wearhouse paying rent shouldn't be too expensive.

I'd be there all year also. We ride behind the boat all year so why not cable? Like other cable parks, having a proshop/rentals could help with profit and attracting customers. I would be interested in helping if this is actually proposed.

My boyfriend and I seriously looked into putting a park up, more around Lathrop since the food, location, and land is there. But the only thing that makes it to expensive to build is land. For 10 acres in the area you are looking at $5-10 million for freeway front property. If anyone is interested in looking to invest, please contact me. We have all the connections to get a sweet park up and running in no time.

5 to 10 million?? no way, what about in the outskirts, place with a bbq area grill, just have all the amenities. im from the discovery bay area (20 minutes west of stockton) , and land is expensive but i have seen 40 acreas for around 1 mill. right next to town.

Commercial property is much more expensive than residential. Residential can be converted but its extremely expensive and difficult to do. Also if the property doesnt already have water on it it can be much more expensive to get the permits and built a small lake and or large pond. Theres a private ski lake right off the freeway near Ryde that would be perfect. I doubt the guy wants to sell it but its worth asking.

i may be wrong but i think the 2 major issues here in cali is 1) the permits from the city/county 2) cost and or availibilty of ins. I used to do insurance and just for a batting cage the cost was nutz. The cost of insurance here could be anywere from 100's of thousands to maybe a mil a yr.

From the people I have talked to its all about water rights and those are gold. Permits, water rights and insurance liabilities would be my biggest concerns.

Insurance is definately a big cost as well, but even at the most 1 mil is minor compared to land cost. Permits also, but once they are approved within a city it would easy. The only thing about going further up north (because ive considered this) is you want to consider where everyone is to be coming from. I-5 and 99 are the 2 main all state highways that could be easy service for SoCal riders as well. By making the park in Central California it would make everyone a little happier, plus if you go out Disco people not familiar to the area are most likely not going to find it. One of the main things the owner and Jeff at OWC said about location that they wished they did was to make the park in a location where there is food restaurants near and hotels. Even for 5 acres, which is a small park commercial property is about $3-5 Million. As far as converting a residential to commercial, it wouldn't be worth the time and money. If someone could help me make this happen, I can guarantee a profitable business. The closest parks to the West Coast are Kansas and Texas. With the people I know the longest part of the process would be getting land, insurance, and permits.

Santee is getting very close, and should be having the city council vote very soon. Once that happens, it should move along pretty quick. I hope to find out more soon, and will make a seperate post. Can't wait! I will probably just about be living at the place.

I would ride at the cable park in stockton 2-3 times a week. I ride the delta in stockton all year. I just throw a drysuit on. With the price of gas lets just hope that more cable parks start popping up. There are a ton of riders who would ride the park all the time... and this would also draw a lot of people to the park from far away. The critical thing about cable parks is the features. Check out the park they just built in the Philippines: http://www.camsurwatersportscomplex.com/ They did it right. If you have a bunch of sick rails, boxes, and sliders people will come from all over just to ride it.
