I was talking about small single engine planes that you buy for private use. A low volume, hand-assembled product similar to a luxury boat. F-22 or B-777 is kinda different, but I get your point. That said, the defect rate on new boats is still astronomical compared to any other similar product I can think of. It's pretty much 100% go back to the dealer after delivery to customer for new wakeboarding boats as far as I can tell.

And give me a break, nothing in these boats has changed significantly since the 60's outside of the engines and transmissions, which are actually the only reliable parts in them. Is the bilge pump, accessory switches, or gelcoat really any different? They've had way more than 6 years to work the bugs out of assembling boats with such simple parts.
