Years back my Aunt and Uncle adopted two kids from Russia and the one absolutely LOVED Pirates of the Caribbean ... It was the one and only movie on loop at their orphanage... so honestly the only thing he saw for the first 2/3 years of his life besides his crib. Somehow this fact came out and it was coming up on their second summer as part of our family so we figured we would play off the Pirate theme and have a pirate day.
....here is a summary of the day!
Left our house/beach in the morning with my brother, mother, fiance' and myself.
Our pirate ship -
Mom dressed for the day
Picked up the kids at their house... they were given a note in riddle form a few days prior and had to work on decoding it.... Younger brother Ryder (left), me, and the older brother Hunter (right)
Re-reading the first clue
About to set sail ... first clue led us to our grandmother's house down the lake a little ways
Hunting for the second clue
PIRATE FLAG!
Second clue at Grandma's
Third clue led us to a small island on the lake... searching for the clue
The clue lead us into an ambush!!!!
Battle on the high-seas
After the battle and some of our crew was kidknapped, we headed to find the next clue and have lunch
The next clue was sunken underwater like 6 ft and guarded by alligators... so we had to hide under a flipped canoe to find it .... Ryder sizing up the gators
Brother loading the kids into the canoe
Found the clue, killed the gators
Last clue... we go onto dry land for one last epic battle
NO PRISONERS!
They found the map from the evil pirates and now to locate the treasure
One last surprise pirate guarding the "X" that marked the spot
Found it... time to dig
Finished with a cookout, watching Pirates of the Caribbean outside on a projector and lots and lots of beer.
