I'm putting together my ballast system and need to go from the brass ball valve off the thru hull to the home depot 1" plumbing fittings. The galv fittings thread in to the brass OK but doesn't seat to the bottom, however it does get tight just not a ton of penetration into the brass. Also in hooking up the hose to a T for instance can I just push the hose over a 3/4" nipple off the T, hose clamp it and call it good? or do I need more of a barbed hose fitting to connect the hose to the plumbing/bags?

Thanks, been getting a ton of help already from Wakemakers, big props to Jason....
