I kinda chuckled at that too. Looks like a bright shiny new boat to me. Great looking one at that!
My 97 must be like back to the stone age. Good thing I traded it in!

Thanks guys.. I am going to see how the stock bimini is first before going to a Z5. I had a Z5 on my last (non mastercraft) and loved it. I do love the idea of having a zippered 'sun roof' on the MC Z5.

Congrats! Btw the stock MasterCraft bimini doesn't even compare to the Xstar with a Z5 on it! More shade in my opinion and way more functional.

Just a heads up Bryan... Z5 Bimini sold out to XTP... ie:Xtreme Products.. ie:Monster Tower... I pull the canvas off when we tow a long distance.. local is ok.. a big plus is the 3 surfboard rack built into the top of the bimini.... And as you probably know... pretty pricey for a bimini!!!

Expensive? yes.. didnt know they sold out to XTP.. interesting. I used to tow my Z5 with the cavas on (3 seasons) on the highway and had no issues. I did havbe the tie downs though. I also like the fact that the Z5 doent rattle around. Anything IMO is better than the bimini for the power tower.

Congrats on the new boat. That is a super sick X-Star. I'm a sucker for the PWT and the 40th Anniversary versions.
Also, is there a better looking trailer wheel than the XD Badlands...? The answer is, "No, there is not!"

In terms of the gadgetry, this may be the last breed without multiple integrated touch screens, power towers, key pad ignitions, techy stuff ect. I dont think they were doing much with touch screens back in 09, Tige may have been doing their touch system at that point? Im pretty sure they were the first company to start pushing it.

i think every boat manufacturer is going the same way.... Bu, Nautique, Tige and Mastercraft.
They are all electronic and computer driven... so much to fiddle with and break. I love my 08 40th Anniversary and like it because all that can go wrong is the vdig but i have manual gauges too!

I never really figured that out. They look like amoebas or something. Its the design that was used for the original 2009/2010 PWT stars.

I really can't back it up with evidence, but I think the Tige Touch beat the Maliview by a few months. I will try and do some digging and see what I can find, anyone know for sure??

Maliview came out first but was not and is not a Touch Screen, Tige came out with Tige Touch is 2010 and was First with a Touch Screen. Maliview was a big screen but had and still has buttons on the sides, then Malibu came out with there Touch Screen in 2011 on the side of the dash.

Tige was an option as of the 2009 model year and Malibu was a option in 2009.
according to wakeboard mag boat reviews.

MC used Vdig in 2008 which in that case his 2009 Xstar does have a digital LCD screen with zero off, nav (I think), and depth mapping. That system was actually kind of cool too because it actually showed the bottom of the lake as you drove and any approaching shallow spots would show up on the Vdig. That said, this 2009 isn't really back to the basics (zero off, LCD screen, etc). Even though I'm young I like old school stuff myself but this is the era of technology. Any manufacturer that sits back and keeps using old technology, no matter how bullet proof, will get swallowed by it's competitors. May be unfortunate to some, but true.
