Lyman has a lot more traction and less flex. I feel like it has more speed and pop than the recoil, it's meant to be ridden very hard.
The Recoil is such a fun board to ride though, I couldn't bring myself to get rid of such a great board so I decided to keep it and will probably ride both this year.

I would definitely recommend the recoil I've had a great time on mine, also check out the Hooke and maybe even the Lyman. The Lyman will ride a lot like a traditional board but with the benefits of flex and the atomic c core which the Hooke also uses. Either way you can't go wrong.

I just bought a liquid force watson hybrid 2012 with 2012 soven boots but am replacing the boots with my 2012 liquid force vantage ct boots. I was riding the liquid force groove 2010 with my vantage boots but the board has been given a big work out and an up grade was required.
Mind u I have only been riding 6-8 weeks and have thrashed my board! The groove doesn't like the kickers and sliders much lol so my wife is getting the groove with the soven boots.
Ps. board n bindings cost alot more in aus where i live then in the US.

I guess so, but doesnt excuse the fact that it's really just the brand making more off us... I can order things from America to save money but I'm pretty impatient haha.
I got 100 off the board and 80 off the boots as I'm a member at the cable park I bought it at. Total 1258 hardly cheap...

and you usually don't get warranty either when you buy from outside of Aus.
Remember you're not dealing with with Liquid Force you're dealing with a Liquid Force importer.
There's another man there taking his cut.

is the blanket protecting the board or the floor?
funny how some of us really baby our gear when we first get it, even when it is built ... i know i do.
... its almost a blessing when that first scratch happens and then your willing to be a little less gentle

Jeromy both but more for the reasons that if i dont like the board i can bring it back and trade it for soemthing else.. dont want to lose that option by dinging It
But yea fr the first month or so we do do that with new equipment until the first scratch and then dont care after that..

The Lyman is a board designed to ride hard so remember that going into it, it will perform at its best fr you on big wake hits.

Logan I appreciate the reply however i kinda of got that fromthe larger roicker, 17.4 inch mid width and a subtle 3 stage..
what i was really wondering is about the speed, edge transitoin, is it forgiving on off center landings(not on edge etc) and is it tight or loose while not on edge meesing around on top of the water??????
I ride big wakes mostly and sometimes huge wakes so that not an issue im a wake snob :P

holds its edge like a train track, no doubt about it. it's a tight feeling board, but very fast. probably the most all around forgiving landings of any board I have ridden. [I've ridden a wide range of boards from hype, lf (sadly), ronix and slingshot. ]
this board almost gets itself back on edge i feel like.
if you like to go big off the wake then this is no doubt the board you want to be riding. if you do a lot of surface tricks then the recoil would be a better board to ride, or the hooke.

I pulled our boards out of their bags this weekend. I need to put the boots back on my boy's Vision board and also pull the Relik's off of my One board.
I just bought some open toe Ronix Kai boots for the One to use as a boat board for anyone who doesn't have or bring their board. Anyone interested in my size 11 Relik's? I bought them new last June.
My new Ronix One Defy boots should be in today or tomorrow at M2.

the Vandalls are the most comfortable bindings I have ever owned. If you can locate a pair I would highly suggest it... As for the Vandall, I am going to hold on to it and put it up in my office at home. Its a 2011, and it took me a long time to find it.... sorry man

I know you didn't ask me but I will chime in. The new toe straps are a night and day difference for me. I liked the feel before but now after riding the new ones I love the 2012's. I have only ridden them about 10 times but noticed a big difference in comfort.
