Yeah the wake is pretty damn big and easy to launch off because it's not as steep as say a SANTE 210. To me it looks more inviting than looking over at a straight up and down wall. As Art said the handling is unreal I can be going full speed and totally crank the wheel full bore no sweat and the thing barely leans. I previously had a MB Sport DD and the Sanger out handles it easily.

Nice! Would a Sanger V210 throw a similar wake? Im thinking about upgrading my 94 DXII and really like the sangers. Seems like the 210s are pretty reasonably priced.

Probably need some V210'rs to chime in but from my understanding the wake is a little steeper and of course more narrow than the V215. It's a lighter more narrow boat so it probably takes less weight to get the wake up there.

I've never ridden a 215 wake but the 210 wake is really nice

As Walt said...Steep and narrow. I believe the 210 needs more weight compared to the 215. Buddy has a 215 and the wake is apples and oranges when compared to the 210. Can't go wrong with either.

Sorry to hijack the thread......but I have a 94 DXII, and am debating between setting it up a little more for wakeboarding, or upgrading the boat. It has a monster tower on it, and it actually throws a really nice wake when the boat is full of people. I was thinking about throwing some ballast bags and perfect pass into it. Would I be better off to just upgrade to a V210? It would be nice to have the open bow. They are the same hull are they not?

Oh, and any advice on wieghting the DXII? How much wieght should one of these have to throw a real nice wake? Should I go with ballast or lead? Any suggestions on placement? Where is the best place to get this stuff?

Dean, I think Sparkyjay had a DX2 and could tell you how to weight it.

Sorry I chimed in late, was actually waxing the 215 all weekend. Here's a close up of our 215 wake. I run it with triple ballast all full and dont add any aftermarket accessories. For us novices, if we have > 4 adults, the triple ballast makes the wake pretty intimidating.

215 needs about 2500 and 210 about half that for a starting point. 210 will only be steep without enough weight up front, but some prefer that. As far as the DXII, I would run 400 under the bow, 250 on each side of the engine box and a 350 across the back seat

I run about 1200 pounds in the front & 700 pounds in the back of the V210, I wouldn't say its steep but it has a fairly chunky lip. The amount of weight you need is totally dependant on how fast you ride, if you are in the 19-21mph range, 700 pounds in the front is plenty, you only need to add more weight if you are riding in the 23-24mph range. If you like to ride faster than that the V210 probably isn't the boat for you. There is heaps of photos on wakeworld of both wakes, do a quick search and you will find them.

I disagree with that. I ride from 25 to 26 MPH and love the 210 wake. All of the Sanger wakes (210,215 &230) have plenty of boot.

The reason I say that walt is the V210 seems to be pretty speed sensitive, the quicker you go the smaller it gets. Generally speaking if your riding fast you are an advanced rider and want a super sized fat wake and I don't know if that's possible with the v210's low sides. Its not like you can put 4000 pounds in it like a Bu LSV or X-star.

One characteristic you don't here people talk about is wake hardness or firmness. Sanger's have very hard/firm wakes and they get harder the faster you go.

here is my 2 cents. the more weight we put in, the bigger the lip would get, the deeper the trough would get, the faster you would have to go...... but firmness or should i say thickness, not really. so im on the other spectrum here. the boat throws a big ramp with a "widows peak wake" but its like jumping a double on a bike, lip to lip. now my vlx wake on the other hand is like a table top it looks like the lake steps up above sea level and you can draw a flat line across it, like a mesa. did i explain that ok? just "imo" but they are great boats. edit: stock center and 2 rear with 6 heads for these pics. I hear you Brian. IMO VLX (& X-star even more so) wake has much more table top style wake than the V210 which lips up inside & out. On the plus side the VLX is beefier and can be built to practically unlimited size but on the down side much more expensive to run.

Diag to illustrate I don't think I have ever experienced trough on our wake tho, maybe because we run a lot of forward bias. I don't like the majority of nauti wakes due to the trough phenomenon (Message edited by Ralph on February 18, 2008)
