Question for the experts. Looking at purchasing a 2001 210. The seller stated that his is not a 210, it's a super air.
Did nautique offer more than just the 210 in a vdrive in 2001? Or is it the same hull with different options?

I may be wrong but I've never heard of two different boats. I have an 02 Super Air 210. And every owner I know we all refer to it as either a Super Air or a 210. There's the Super Sport which is the same hull and length, but a different interior set up.

It's been a long time, but I want to think in the late 90's they were only called the "Super Air Nautique". Might just be a naming convention change or prior to having multiple hull models, then again I could just be downright wrong since it's been so long.
Where's the rest of the wakeboarding dinosaurs to help Ryan and I out?

Sounds like the owner is simply someone who doesn't know that they're also referred to as 210s.

Yup all same thing. First they were called Super Sport, then Super Air, then Super Air 210.
Post pics when you have it!

And I know you referred to a v-drive, but the direct drive was the Pro Air version of their "Air" series.

Pretty sure I've seen super air 211's and super air 226's.

There are Super Air Nautique 210, 220, 230, 236. The 211 was an Air Nautique 211, and there was also Pro Air Nautique (which was a Sport Nautique with tower/ballast), Air Nautique 206 and Air Nautique 216 and 226. The Super Air Nautique from 2000 - 2002 I think is the same as the 210 of 2003-2006. So even though the seller is not calling it a 210, it is the same hull/boat as a 210 but Nautique had not come up with the 210 moniker yet.

Pro Air Nautique (DD) is a different hull to the Super sport/SAN210 (VD). Sport Nautique (DD) has the same hull as the super sport/SAN210 (VD).

Yes and yes. That boat with tower, ballast and different graphics is a Super Air. or 210.

My understanding is that the Super Air Nautique is branding for the more wake-specific boats - tower, ballast, etc. It has nothing to do with the model. For example, the current G series still bears the Super Air Nautique branding.
If you really want a full run down of all things Super Sport/SAN/210, then search on planetnautique. The hull remained the same from the mid-90s through 2006, but they made a bunch of interior changes and other changes (e.g., tower, engine) over time. The wake is the same in all of them and is a classic.

Little late on the response , but the owner is likely a bit misinformed as well. Over the years the "Super Air Nautique " has historically meant an options package that consisted of Tower , Ballast, And Perfect pass .
Super Sport Nautique
Super Air Nautique
Super Air Nautique Team Edition
Super Air Nautique Limited
Super Air Nautique 210
Up to 2006 Are all the exact same boat with different options and gelcoat schemes over the years. He probably says his is a Super Air Nautique because it originally came from the factory with tower , ballast, perfect pass and updated graphics. Calling it a super Air Nautique 210 would be correct as well.

This boat is the exact same interior layout , and hull as the Super Air Nautique . It's just missing the wakeboard options. It will also be considerably cheaper because you need to add all the options to make it a super Air . Even outfitted with all the same exact options a super sport still would be 2-5k less that a super Air Nautique with same options after aftermarket .

Also want to note that there was a Super Air Nautique in 1999 (the first year) that is the same hull as the SS and SAN mentioned here. It has different OEM tower, graphics, rear hatch etc. Threw an amazing wake and ran great year after year.
Here is a pic of mine from years ago (with upgraded tower, not OEM)...
