A buddy in Ohio is getting ready to launch this, thought I'd share on here. Attaches to the side of the boat for shade while hanging out in the water.

I think that's a great Idea. I don't see how people with no Bimini or small Bimini survive!

That thing is perfect until a wakesurfer comes by and wreaks havoc. All it takes is one of them and that shade will be slappin whoever is underneath it. Maybe not. That said, I think it's a great idea in the right environment.

Glad you guys like the idea!
Mark, the cover is suspended from the tower, so if it's out in a rough area, just need to tighten that strap up and increase the angle on the boat a bit. The floating anchors attached to the outside corners are semi-loose and just keep the cover down if the wind blows. Tighten the top, loosen the bottom a little more, and you'll be good when rollers come swinging in.
Adding to that a little bit, the cover also attaches to the boat in two other spots (at the corners) to help hold it in place. On the X-Star, I had it attached to the inside rail in the bow and put the rear strap up around the corner of the boat and buckled it to the lifting ring. So cleats, tower, lifting rings, bimini frame, side rail, etc. can all be attachment points.

Would like it tall. Maybe attach to tower and cantilever off swim platform.

GD I need to play around with it some more, but it should easily attach to the tower and reach out over the platform on most boats. It'll end up being about 9'6" square.

It's definitely got potential for sure. Is there a marketing plan? Online sales only? When/where will they be for sale?

I put on a Tshirt and a hat cant say I ever have been over sunned in the water . Now a bigger shade to cover the entire boat that would be something.

Actually I saw his original post on Facebook, and I think he was thinking under $500.
Not too bad considering everything in the boat world seems to be marked up ridiculously.
I would want to wait on the first reviews to come back before pulling the trigger. I like the idea, but I'm curious about how collapsible it is. How much storage room do I have to give up?

$1600 would be awesome (for me) haha. With the way things are currently looking, it'll be less than $400.
Aaron, it won't take up a lot of space. Poles will collapse to about 32" long, and they're going to be either 7/8" or 1" diameter at the most, so fairly small and light. Cover folds up extremely well with the new material, should be 8-9" square and ~1.25" thick. The floating anchors will be about 13" in diameter and 1.5" thick each. Whole system will weigh around 8 lbs or less and come with a storage bag to put it all in one place. The anchors may be slightly inconvenient, but still not bad.
I have plans to sign up dealers as well as sell on my website (to answer Mark's question).

Setup? It's designed to ride around like that all day. You have to be ready to party at a moments notice!

Nacho, it only takes a few minutes to set up. I'll have a short video to show people the best way to get it hooked up.
Vee, that's interesting, never came across that or their patent when searching prior to coming up with this. Neat, but definitely a lot of downfalls for using as a boat product.

Thank you! That umbrella is actually really cool how it uses the ring on the transom to mount it. Only problem is storing the umbrella, just have to lay the whole thing along the floor in the way. Mine is going to come with a storage bag so that it's easy to keep all in one place, and it'll all fit underneath a seat and out of the way
