Speaking of Table Rock, I'm heading down there in a couple of weeks and I need somewhere to stay. We usually stay in the Shell Knob area but it is all booked. Anybody know of any resorts/cabins with boat slip that takes dogs?

Nice quiet place. Its going to be my fiance and myself and two other couples. I've been calling everywhere! Shore Acres looks nice but doesn't allow dogs. I really prefer the west end of the lake; Shell Knob, Baxter/Lampe, Eagle Rock areas, maybe somewhere close to Kimberling City.

Happy Days resort, Kings River? Eric - I'm a skier (**GASP**) so I can be found in Little Cow on the slalom course, or trick skiing in Spring Creek. My house is in hidden shores off DD...

That pretty much covers the west end of the lake as far as places to stay...Try Aunts Creek if you havent yet...There is Cape Fair but water is dirty that way..If you want to drive a bit further the Arkansas side of the lake south of Branson is really smooth and quiet...

Hey now, I work out 4 days a week! I started off young slalom skiing, pretty fun stuff, went through my wakeboarding phase and now I'm a little older and wakesurfing suits my fancy.

Try the Shell knob chamber of commerce's website. They list a ton of places to stay. The Timbers is probably one of the nicer places in the area. If you want to go to an even quieter area of the lake, Holiday Island is the place to be. Try www.wildgooselanding.com.

Oh I've been on the Shell Knob chamber web-site all morning, nothing available that allows dogs. Stayed at the Timbers, it is nice. Holiday Island does have some availability.

For the last few years, we have been staying in the Holiday Island area(Grew up staying in the Shell Knob area). We really love that part of the lake. Its quiet. Always good water. If we didn't store our boat at Campbell PT, we would still be staying down there. But, a secret.

Holiday Island is in Eureka Springs. If you have never been there, it is really cool place. They have an awesome blues fest. Try this site http://arkansasvacationhomes.com/lodging/?rg=1 I don't know what happened to the wildgoose site. (Message edited by psudy on July 09, 2007)

Its not really a resort, its more like an island with some homes on it. The Golf course looks nice, but I have never played it. Keep in mind that there are no boat slips. You have to rent a stall from holiday island marina, or just trailer it when you are done. We usually did the latter. By the time you got everything unloaded and to the car, it would have been easier to just pull it on the trailer. You will like it though. If you drive up the river far enough, the water will get super cold when they release from beaver lake. Its fun to not tell people and watch them jump in.

Sweet, I'm sold on Holiday Island...just need to book the place. They said the cabin is like 3/4 mile from the marina, which isn't bad at all.

Holiday Island is a nice area you won't regret staying up there! TRL water levels have been really high with all the rain we've been getting so the shallow water usually found around Holiday Island really won't pertain to you, however I will recommend keeping an eye on your depth, especially as you head West out of the island... I've looked down and found myself in 3 feet before!

Yea, you will want to stay with the channel west of Holiday Island. There are some shallow spots. Just make sure you check out riding spots before you pull. bbeach, do you know why the cove behind the marina is all no wake? We have gone back there a few times, it is a huge cove that would be great for boarding. There are no docks, and it is deep. I couldn't figure out why its listed as a no wake zone.

If shallow water is an issue I'll just head north up the lake on the Missouri side. That is crazy, I've never been in anything shallower than 90 feet of water at Table Rock!

The lake is more of a river that far west. anywhere east of HI is fine, but when you get down past Beaver(the town), it gets really narrow, and you have to start watching the channel.

You can find good water around Baxter. Go back in the cove towards swiss villa. Its a deep cove and usually has good water way back in it.

Yeah, I was down there in Baxter a couple of years ago and thats where we rode. You have to grab it up early in the morning to get your sets in. It is a nice area though. Swiss Villa has a new name now, Black Oak Mountain Resort. Oh, FYI: Wildgoose in HI is now part of The Island Motel & Resort Rentals http://www.holidayisland.com/motel/

Yeah I know its BOMR, but it will always be swiss villa to me. They changed that back in 1995. I lived there in the summer of 96. They even got No Doubt to play at the ampitheatre. I saw that wildgoose is listed under the rentals place. We stayed in Larkspur 1b a last year. It was brand new and very nice.

Where will you be coming from to get to Table Rock? If you are coming from the springfield then you have quite a drive to get to holiday island. Have you tried the cape fair area? If not there down by Long Creek south of branson is has pretty good water and is not that far from springfield. Also if you are interested in eating/drinking Big Cedar is right around the corner from Long Creek. Plus you have the cliffs and the branson bell just past Big Cedar. Holiday Island/Eureka Springs is a cool little town but it is a further drive from springfield and the lake gets pretty narrow. Anyways if you dont mind the drive Holiday Island is pretty good, but Long Creek/Gauges Marine is closer and just as good of water, plus it is closer to branson so you can always go see a show!

I'm actually coming from Wichita, about a five hour drive. I've been to Table Rock many times so I know the area. I stayed at Big Cedar a few times when I was a kid, but I just don't feel like I'm at the lake when I stay there.
