wakesurf virgin behind my own boat

Well just getting into this wakesurfing deal, i have a hyperlight 5'6" wakesurf and a 1998 nautique super sport/ AIR. as far as ballast i have a 250 on each side of the motor and a 600 in the ski locker, this is my wakeboard setup anyway. I am not looking to buy more sacks so just want to work the best wave i can with what i have. We have surfed a little behind my roomy's mastercraft and seem to be getting decent wave there, but on my boat we have had no luck, i am putting everyone on the left side rear and just cant get the wave to form anywhere from 9-13mph. I'm looking for help and advice to get me going in the right direction! Thanks in advance.

that age nautique had a reverse rotation prop so the better of two sides will be the starboard or right side. Im assume your ballast is built in, but if not put the 600 in the right rear locker and the 2 250's on that side of the boat. If it is built in fill the 250 on the surf side and try different amounts in the center tank. If you can get a bunch of bodies on board, its easy to try weight in different places.

Thanks WAlove, my ballast is not built in and i know with the right hand rotation the starboard side is better but im regular footed and was hoping to get something to work on the port side. I've heard ppl are able to get it to work ok, but maybe i'll just have to try the other side and riding on my heelside. The first day out we had just the 250's filled and we got something of a decent wave on the port side, but last time we filled the center 600 and it seemed worse, ill have to try moving that sac to the rear corner. any other advice greatly appreciated! thanks alot.

place the other 250's along the surf side bench seat, maybe try one in the bow some boats respond well to bow weight others do not.

Jeff, if it's that big of a deal, just learn to surf goofy.
