looking for a wakesurf

I'm in the market for a wakesurf but don't know what to get. My boat is a 2005 Moomba Outback. For ballast I will be running a 700lb sack under the rear seat, a 300lb sack on the left side, and 450lbs in the bow. So I'll have just under 1500lbs of ballast in the boat. It should make a decent wake to surf on. I'm 200lbs and have never been on a wakesurf. I was looking at the trick boardz and liked them because it's a local company and I like to support the locals. I talked to a guy that has ridden them several times and said he would try something else because the trick boardz have a problem with the nose of the board digging into the water. Anyone have any experience with these? Also, all the other boards I looked at were way more expensive and I don't really care to drop $400 on a board. I would say $300 to 325 max. I have way too many things I need to buy for my boat to drop that much money on a board. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good board that will fit my needs and budget? I'll even buy a used board if the price is right.

for a good wake like that and your size i would get a liquid force inlander board is 5'6 and i copied a description. also its $279 on buywake.com

Trick Boardz do not "dig the nose into the water". They are probably the best board for NOT crashing if you get the nose underwater. Most other boards struggle with design and modification to keep the nose of their boards out of the water because if the nose goes under, the ride is over. With Trick Boardz, as you get better, you will frequently put the nose under water and keep on surfing. When I ride, I frequently push the nose under as I push the envelope of my riding skills and usually don't crash in the process.

Check out the videos on our website www.TrickBoardz.com and watch Adam Roten's Surf Skate segment where he continues to surf even after going underwater on the wrong side of the wake. In that video he inadvertently got onto the wrong side. Now he does it on purpose, surfing back to the correct side under water the entire time and then pops out through the wave and continues surfing.

Also, with other boards, you have a nose to the board. Trick Boardz are symmetrical so there is no nose or tail. They are the same and either end will surf even after the “nose” goes underwater, whether you are riding toe side or heel side.

Since you are in Austin, come borrow a board and demo it first. We're on Hwy. 71 near the Pedernales. Based upon your size, experience and boat, I would recommend the Trick Boardz Mojo Grande.
