Going to need one soon. I had a bare, but I was wondering if the Oneil was better. The bare seemed a little constrictive. I had a ronnie it was very flexable more so than the bare. Anyone that has tried both have any inputs.

I have the O'Neill Boost and like it very much. I haven't tried the Bare. I've used O'Neill wet and dry suits for many years and always felt they were excellent quality.

Squid,
I have owned both the Bare and Boost.

I personally like the Boost better. Not to say the bare is bad, because it is what I currently use. I bought a Bare last year becasue I couldnt find a Boost anywhere her in SOCAL at the time. For the most part they fit the same and both work just as well as each other.

Pro for the boost is the suspenders inside. It lets a number of different size riders use it and makes the fit a little better. Con for the Boost is the neck Seal. Although more comfortable than the Bare, it always seems to let water in even on a mild fall.

Pro for the Bare is the Price and Seals. They never let water in and the fit is baggy but comfortable.
Con is the neck seal is rubber not neoprine like the Boost. It makes it a little more restrictive ( breathing ) . But like I said before it keeps water out better as well. So there is definately a trade off.

Both Drysuits are made well and customer service and replacement is easy and somewhat cheap. Do yourself a favor and make sure you buy from a local shop , so if you have any problems with seals or zippers you can go through them for replacement.
Good Luck.

E, thanks I was leaning towards the Boost. So it looks like I will try a boost this round. I will use good old ski world for the purchase. They have a great customer service I have been using them for more than 10 years.

I have the Boost, it's really nice. Super comfy and easy to ride in. I havn't seen or ridden in the Bare, but I definitely recommend the Boost.
