Does anybody use this adaptor. I use my boat in the chesapeake bay all the time. I just got it last summer, but when i asked my dealer about this he said that there was no need for it and that a garden hose cannot give the cooling system enough pressure to do anything to help it clean itself out. The water the boat is used in is brackish (moderate salinity, high growth content). I am wondering what people feel about flushing boats that are used in non lakewater, and if this adaptor is worth the money/installation.

Thanks

I put one on my last boat (Sport Nautique) and it worked fine for idling in the driveway. Perfect for flushing if you use your boat in salt water or for heating up the oil prior to draining. On my current boat, I'm using a "fake-a-lake"...not quite as nice, but it gets the job done.

I put one of them in my boat last summer. Well worth it. My intake sits on top of a bunk, so I can't use the fake-a-lake. I get enough pressure to run the engine, but I wouldn't rev the RPM's very high for very long.

I have a factory one installed in my Malibu VLX. It is awesome and I reccomend it to everyone. It is easy to hook up the hose and start your boat up in the driveway. You can see the connection in this pic on the right hand side.
