I realize this topic has been covered on why it cant happen in NORCAL, so I say RENO! I think Reno could support something like this both from a tourist standpoint and a rider standpoint. Especially if a casino got behind it.... How about the Hilton? They already have a cable sized lake for their "aqua range".

no doubt!!!!! let the golfers hit golf balls at the wakeboarders, then let the wakeboarders ride for free as targets. Its a win , win situation. The old golfers would tell their friends how much fun they had hitting golf balls at punk wakeboarders. I am in. where is my helmet?

How many people here would invest in a cable park if it was in the Inland Empire(Riverside County)? I have talked with a a few people and they say that wakeboarding is a fad and will not be around long enough for it to make money. If anybody has access to a business plan for one I would love to look at it.

How about Santee, California?? Never heard of it? It's smack dab in the middle of San Diego County and it looks like that will be the first cable park on the west coast. I'll have more details for you soon.

Dave, Santucky would be a great place. All the hicks and white supremests can hang out at night there!!! As far as smack in the middle of SD county, geographically your correct, but Santucky as you know ,is about as far east in San Diego as you can get before you hit the mountains. But I see you working!!!! I like it, I would spend all of my lunch hours at the place!!!! Yearly Memberships!!!!!! Put it right behind Los Colinas Womens Jail, that way we could look at all the chicks when we are not riding!!!!

I'm in San Diego county and I'm a good 30 minutes east of Santee, then it's another 20-30 before you hit ocean, so that's what I based my very scientific estimate on. It's actually a very smart location because it uses reclaimed water (no griping about contaminating drinking water) on a pond that is already in place (no hole digging expense) and perfectly sized for a cable park. In fact, they have seven ponds in total, so I wouldn't be super surprised if they expanded to other lakes in the future, but that's pure speculation on my part. According to the guy who won the bid to build it, there will be yearly memberships available, but the finished product is at least a year off and I'm sure a lot could change in that time.

WHoa, Blabel just perked up! BTW, Santucky is only 20 minutes from basically anywhere in the city of San Diego. I thought the first would be up in Riverside. This would be pretty darn cool.

they're building a new cable park in austin. I don't know why there isn't more cable parks in the US. There's cable parks everywhere in europe. I actually prefer cable over boat.

Would like to see a park in Washington, however I don't think our season (May - Oct) could support it.

Yes, Santee Lakes. Reclaimed water is fine and dandy for me. Plus, it's probably the only way you'll be able to do this in California. I believe they are required to monitor the water to make sure it's all kosher dill pickle for swimming. There may be swimming in it now, but I'm not sure. I know that there are about 300 campsites in the area and more on the way. It's really a great spot.

I think Buena Vista is reclaimed but I'm not positive. Anyone have any issues from riding at BV? Maybe I just won't fall

I dunno about "reclaimed water" issue. All the signs out here in Orlando tell you not to drink the water because it's been reclaimed.

WBing isn't a fad. That's what they said about snowboarding, and skateboarding, and _________. I think you could also drill your own wells for h20 in CA, if you wanted to. I don't really care about reclaimed water or not. Couldn't care less really. Try surfing in the Ocean, if you want a host of diseases, illness, viruses, etc.
